Today and everyday we honor and celebrate Indigenous communities and cultures and recognize the decades of ongoing challenges, marginalization, disposition, and rights violations . The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is a reminder to protect the rights, freedoms, voices, and heritage of Indigenous Peoples to ensure the passing of wisdom and knowledge that have sustained the existence and well-being of such communities. This day reminds us that Indigenous Peoples' right to self-determination is about justice, respect, and reconciliation.
