We love a good handout!
Came across this resource & I just can’t keep this to myself.

Time and time again, we review how to combine the skills, and learn that it’s not a one size fits all approach. So here, we have a nice screenshot for easy access from your phone, with some simple yet direct information on how to integrate and direct yourself thru DBT skills. 🧠🪴

Curious or Critical? & Why it Matters ✨
& a helpful tip/consideration…

Curiosity is a space that exists between our experience and reaction, and the more curious we are, the less defensive our nervous system tends to be. In that space, we tend to access interpretations.

Interpretations are human - they exist because our mind likes to create themes and meaning based on what we already know. & naturally, when we have an emotion that has made a serious impact on us, we tend to fill the gaps with the very opposite of rose coloured glasses… perhaps a shade of black, or grey. Our body does this to protect us.. because why would our mind want us to be in harms way… again!?

So here, we have a beautiful antidote - curiosity. A gift that is challenging to give and receive at times. If we start being curious, we put down those walls and see interactions as blank slates. We start to see facts for what they really are.

This creates opportunity for vulnerability, exploration and resilience. Where the nervous system heals; & where we get a chance to deepen our quality of life with our selves and others. 🍃 So let us take a step back and focus on observing. Let us notice what we see, feel, think, and urge to do.. and use these cues as a compass to ask about them further.

Gentle Consideration: have a physical item, note or reminder as a cue in a place where you would like to encourage more curiosity in your life.

A meaningful return. 🌿

I’m beginning to find my way back into my work after two months of postpartum life—and I want to do it honestly.

This season has held so much change. Becoming a mom of two, learning a new rhythm, caring for a tiny human while continuing to care for myself, and figuring out who I am in this new chapter has been beautiful, exhausting, grounding, and humbling all at once (talk about multiple truths 😅).

So I’m giving myself permission to return in a gentle manner.

I care deeply about how I show up for the people I support, and I care deeply about my loved ones.. so this must be intentional at all angles.

I want to be present. Attuned. Thoughtful. I want to have the capacity to sit with the hard things, to hold space without rushing, and to bring the best of myself into the room.

And right now,
that means respecting the pace this season requires.

There’s something I find deeply meaningful about practicing what we so often talk about in therapy: that two things can be true.

I can be grateful to be back and still be adjusting.
I can love this new chapter and miss parts of the old one.
I can be excited about my work and need to move gently as I find my footing again.

Change doesn’t always ask us to move faster. Sometimes it asks us to slow down enough to notice what we need.

So, I’m returning—not perfectly, not all at once, but intentionally.

With a little more compassion for myself.
A little more trust in the process.
And a lot of respect for the season I’m in. 🤍

Here’s to beginning again, at a pace that allows us to truly be present for the life we’re building. Sort of like a slow start of a mindful morning… watching the sun rise, smelling the coffee, actually tasting the coffee.. just allowing yourself to be and to see where the day takes you. ☕️🌄

If you are interested in resuming services, please inquire to email only, as booking links will not yet be open until I have a more firm idea of schedule and related planning. Virtual services will commence first, followed by in person services at a later date. Depending on availability & needs, referrals may be given.

Much appreciation, ❤️

Ashley

✨With gratitude, I am informing you of a significant life event that contributes to building my life worth living. 🌿

And with this news, I sincerely want to offer the smoothest transition to my clients with continuity of care in mind. Please note as of July 1, 2026, I will be taking some time away from work to embark on a life transition of my own.

This announcement serves as an opportunity and invitation to reflect on your needs. Perhaps upon reflection, you find yourself wanting to rebook, maybe to work on a short term goal, to gain some closure with your current therapeutic needs or to access referrals to ensure you are supported along the way. This announcement can also serve as a mindful pause.

What I know for sure for myself: this is a time where I reflect with gratitude on client goals, progress and insights.

My goal is to ensure that you get what you need as per this leave, and I want you to know that I will be returning in a few months time, on a casual basis. Updates will be provided as necessary and if you wish to be informed via email, please let me know so I can extend the notices in a timely manner.

You know yourself best & I am here to support you along the way ❤️ Should you have any questions, or would like to connect to discuss further, please reach out to me at [email protected] or on Psychology Today.

With kindness & consideration,
Ashley
