𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐬 & 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬: 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞!

Fireworks celebrations can be really stressful for pets. Their hearing is much more sensitive than ours, so the loud noises seem sudden, unpredictable, and scary to them.

Here are some simple ways to help your pets feel more comfortable:

𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐬: Keep your pets inside and make sure all doors and windows are closed 𝑏𝑒𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒 the fireworks begin. Double-check that their ID tags and microchip details are up to date, just in case they get out.

𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧: Set up a cozy spot for your pet in a basement, closet, or an interior room. Close the blinds and add some extra blankets to help muffle the sound.

𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞: Try running a fan, playing white noise, or putting on some calming music with low tones to help cover up the sound of fireworks.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Give your pet a puzzle toy, a frozen treat, or their favourite chew to help keep them distracted.

𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭: If your pet seems scared, it’s okay to comfort them. Your support helps them feel safe. Try not to punish them for being afraid, even if they whine or pace.
