Spirits were soaring at the Stollery Children’s Hospital today, thanks to a special visit from the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. Members of the team had fun painting, drawing, and playing air hockey with patients and families. They also shared some cool autographed Snowbirds gear.

The military aerobatics flight team saved the best for last with a fly-over directly above the hospital, so kids could watch from below.

A dazzling morning at the Stollery Children’s Hospital as Roop Malik, Mrs. Queen of the World Canada 2025/26, and Jamielinn Marvelous, Ms. Queen of the World Canada 2025/26, stopped by with craft kits for patients and families.

Together, they made crowns and sparkly keychains and shared temporary tattoos.

Thanks for helping make the morning shine! ✨

We were truly honoured to celebrate our incredible Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC) volunteers at the Stollery Children’s Hospital PFCC Volunteers Ignite Change event.

Bringing together our Patient and Family Centred Care team, leadership, and dedicated advisors and volunteers, the day was filled with meaningful connection, heartfelt appreciation, and a lot of fun - complete with pizza and bowling!

This event reflects what our volunteers do every day. They ignite change through their stories, their voices, and their commitment to improving care for patients and families. We simply could not do this work without them. We are so grateful for their passion, strength, and heart - making their impact felt in ways that truly matter.

Today we’re celebrating the small action that makes a big difference — clean hands!
At our hospital, hand hygiene is one of the most powerful ways we keep kids, families, and staff safe.
🧼✨ Clean hands = healthy kids.
🖐️💙 Healthy kids = happy families.
A huge thank you to our incredible staff for leading by example every single day. Your commitment keeps our hospital a safe place to heal, grow, and play.

A “paw-sitively” awesome visit from the PAW Patrol Live! team! Ryder and Skye stopped by to meet the kids, read a book, play some trivia and take some photos.

Our Child Life Specialists are always excited to bring these special moments to our patients and families - creating a joyful, engaging experience that provides emotional relief during a hospital stay. These visits encourage social interaction, and provide a sense of normalcy and excitement for children and their families.

A big thanks to the PAW Patrol Live! crew for helping enhance the Stollery patient experience through meaningful, memorable interactions.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Stollery Children’s Hospital!

Santa’s helpers – about 20 Stollery managers and administration staff – hit the hallways spreading holiday cheer throughout the Stollery, University of Alberta Hospital, Kaye Edmonton Clinic and the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.

The “Pulse Patrol” walked 5 kilometres, singing, ho ho ho’ing, waving at staff, patients and families, all while raising money for Make a Wish Canada, to help grant life-changing wishes for children living with critical illness.

Patient and Family Centred Care Volunteers Make Waves!

The Stollery Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC) team recently held a volunteer appreciation event, celebrating our incredible Stollery PFCC volunteers.

These amazing individuals dedicate their time to advisory and quality improvement councils, peer support, youth advisory councils, interview panels, capital projects, and our family spaces – more than 1,600 hours in the past year alone.

The afternoon was filled with connection and gratitude. Volunteers and staff strengthened existing relationships and built new ones, sharing stories, laughter, and inspiration.

The PFCC team celebrated each volunteer and the way their smallest acts of kindness ripple out to make big waves across the Stollery Children’s Hospital.

Our patients and families’ voices are at the heart of all that we do, and the dedication of our volunteers truly keeps the ripple of positive impact going strong throughout the hospital.

Thank you PFCC volunteers for making a difference every day!
