🌿🍽️ A TRUE TASTE OF OUR REGION! 🍽️🌿
Our culinary team truly hit this one out of the park! 👏❤️
Today’s beautiful lunch was prepared with an amazing selection of ingredients sourced from our regional farmers and local producers — and it was a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds!
🍗 OUR APPETIZERS
🍯 Honey Garlic Chicken Lollipop — Warburg Colony Meats
Raised chicken wings tossed in a delicious reduction of honey, soy & garlic. Sweet, savoury and absolutely irresistible!
🥗 Garden Salad — Mar-Wes Greenhouses
Crisp lettuce tossed with earthy roasted beets, fresh cucumbers & tomatoes, finished with feta cheese from Rockridge Dairy Ltd., crispy bacon croutons and a light green onion vinaigrette. Fresh, colourful and full of flavour! 🌱🍅🥒
And then came the main course… 🤩
The dining room was filled with incredible aromas and plenty of hungry anticipation as our kitchen team served up:

🥩 Pan-Seared Beef Tenderloin — 5S Farms
A premium cut of beef tenderloin seared to perfection, topped with a rich garlic & onion reduction.
🍗 Gouda-Stuffed Chicken Breast — Warburg Colony Meats Ltd. & Sylvan Star Cheese Ltd.
Tender chicken breast stuffed with rich, melted Gouda cheese, caramelized and wrapped in smoky bacon, then finished with a delicious Saskatoon berry glaze. 🧀🥓
🐖 Glazed Pork Chop — 5S Farms
A thick-cut pork chop, pan-seared and finished with a savoury garlic Saskatoon berry glaze.
And of course, we couldn't forget dessert! 🍑❤️
🍑 DESSERT
A beautiful vanilla-poached BC peach, served alongside a velvety, vibrant raspberry cream and finished with a drizzle of Homesteader Farms honey. Absolutely delicious!
The residents raved about this lunch, and it was wonderful to see so many smiles and hear so many compliments coming from the dining room. ❤️
A HUGE kudos to our incredible kitchen and culinary team! 👏👏👏 You didn't just prepare a meal — you created an experience and showcased the amazing food and hardworking producers we have right here in our region.
It was wonderful to see local ingredients transformed into such an exceptional dining experience for our residents. From the first appetizer to the final bite of dessert, this meal was a true celebration of the incredible producers in our community. 🌿❤️

It was wonderful to continue the conversation in Edson as we welcomed newly appointed CEO of Assisted Living Alberta, Brian Pollard, to Parkland Lodge!

Our Director of Client Services, Madonna Popwell, was pleased to welcome Brian alongside Senior Provincial Director Crystal Browne, Home Care Managers Kandice Code and Raelene Miller, and members of the Edson home care team, Kim Fennell, Marla Lueck, and Charlene Morin.

Building on Brian’s recent visit to Jasper, the afternoon offered another opportunity to showcase seniors housing and services within our region, while sharing the experiences, successes, and opportunities that come with bringing housing and health services together in our rural communities.

Visits like these provide valuable time for meaningful conversation, collaboration, and a firsthand look at the unique needs of the communities we serve. We sincerely appreciate Brian and Crystal taking the time to visit another Evergreens community and connect directly with the local teams doing this important work every day.

Thank you to Brian, Crystal, Kandice, Raelene, Kim, Marla, and Charlene for spending time with us in Edson and to Madonna for helping showcase Parkland Lodge and the work happening locally.

We value these opportunities to strengthen our partnerships with Assisted Living Alberta and look forward to continuing to work together as we support seniors throughout our region. 💚

The forecast said it was going to be a beautiful morning, so a few of us were energetic enough for an early morning round of mini golf at Pinnacle Trails Resort just outside of Edson! We had a blast trying to navigate the course keep track of our shots, 😅(though a few "forgot" to count) the scores were pretty even! Some of us even found new ways to use a golf club 🤣 on the tricky spots. It was a great way to get out an beat the heat, thank you Pinnacle Trails resorts for accommodating us so early!After an always amazing lunch from our culinary team, we headed out side to enoy more of that sun and have a friendly game of Frisbee toss.

🚗☀️ Saturday was a wheelie good time! ☀️🚗

Some of our amazing community members fired up their cars and came out to join us for a fun-filled Car Show & BBQ! 🌭🍔

Our residents absolutely loved checking out all the vehicles, visiting with community members, and enjoying a delicious BBQ together. There were lots of smiles, great conversations, and of course, plenty of cool cars to admire! ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who brought their vehicles out and helped make the day so special for our residents! 🥰🚘

Here at Parkland Lodge, we have a variety of health and wellness programs 💪🏼 to keep our residents active and moving. This is our afternoon balance class.

The particular exercise shown in the video is challenging both the coordination and balance of the resident with an emphasis on building and strengthening neural pathways through neuroplasticity in the brain 🧠 that are crucial as we age.

What a fantastic day at our Parkland Lodge Grandchildren's Carnival! ☀️🎡💛
We were blessed with beautiful weather as our residents welcomed their families for a fun-filled afternoon of making memories together in our backyard. The air was filled with children's laughter, colourful painted faces, and smiles everywhere you looked!
Our amazing kitchen took things outdoors and served up summertime favourites—burgers, hot dogs, chips, and the perfect treat to beat the heat with delicious ice cream cones! 🍔🌭🍦
From bouncing alongside the grandkids in the bouncy castles to making new furry friends at the petting zoo, there was something for everyone to enjoy. And of course, the incredible balloon animals brought so much excitement and creativity to the day! 🎈🐐🏰
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this day so special. We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Melissa's Bouncy Houses, Party Animals, and Rachel's Party Balloons for helping create such a memorable carnival experience for our residents and their families.
