We are very excited to welcome Ava Kerr to our clinic, and today is her first day! Ava recently graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Grant MacEwan University and decided to return home to Edson to begin her massage therapy career. She will be working at the clinic on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. She's back!

This is Cortney.

Cortney has been a part of the Active Health Chiropractic and Wellness Centre team since August 2020 having graduated from MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy in June 2020.

Cortney applies multiple modalities to support Clients in achieving their massage goals including Myofascial Cupping and Myofascial Release, thermotherapeutic Jade Stone Massage, GRASTON Technique, RAPID Neurofascial Reset, Thai Acupressure, and Thai Table Massage.

In 2023 and 2024, Cortney Travelled to Chiang Mai, Thailand to attend the International Training Massage School (ITM) where she studied traditional Nuad Bo-Rarn Traditional Thai Massage, Thai Table Massage, and Thai Foot Reflexology Massage.

She just returned from another 2 months in Thailand pursuing a variety of extension classes at ITM and became the school's first ever international student to complete the Bamboo Massage Certified Teacher Program.

"It has always been my professional goal to fashion as customized a therapeutic experience as possible for each and every Client.

Active Health Chiropractic & Wellness Centre Is looking for a Part-Time Office Assistant/Receptionist to join our busy wellness clinic.

As the first person our patients see, you will set the tone for our office. Therefore, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and a warm demeanour. Along with making our patients feel welcome, you'll also be responsible for managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and doing basic administrative tasks. Computer skills are a must. The successful applicant would be required to work 3 days/week (8.5 hours each day) including one evening shift ending at 8:15pm.

"I often say that I have never had a bad day working as a Registered Massage Therapist.

I love a blended day that includes relaxation, therapeutic, sports massage, and cupping sessions.

The anticipation of helping clients along their healing journey is all the motivation I need to show up and try my best every time. It drives me to continue learning, growing, and expanding my knowledge so I can better support my clients’ goals.

Continuing education in Massage Therapy is endless and exciting — it’s honestly hard to choose which skills to focus on next.

I would like to pursue advanced prenatal and postnatal massage training so I can better support our expecting and new mothers.

Brooklyn was born and raised right here in Edson!

She did a 4 year double major program at the Canadian Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Calgary and has been practicing for 4 years ...

"My training enables me to be very hands-on with my clients, and I utilize many different modalities from my tool belt in conjunction with Acupuncture such as cupping, gua sha, massage, moxibustion, and more!

I take a lot of pride in creating a space where it is safe to be fully relaxed during your session, as I believe that is where the best healing begins.

The beauty of Acupuncture is that it’s very versatile, and every treatment is designed specifically for you and your needs. I like to treat a wide range of issues, whether that’s pain or injuries, mental health, digestion, sleep, women’s health, and more!

This is Jayme!

Jayme has been a Registered Massage Therapist for 2 years having graduated from MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy in 2024.

When Jayme is not helping her family with farm life duties, she enjoys being outdoors and doing art.

"As a kid I had been previously trying to find ways to help my family with their chronic pains. After getting my first massage myself and understanding more of the benefits it held, I decided that it was the field I wanted to learn to help my family. Through this, I have found a love for therapeutic massage but I also do relaxation massage.

I massage clients of all ages, and I generally do medium pressure to deep tissue. I believe that massage is very important in keeping your body healthy as it reduces tension and pain, helps with injuries and prevents future injuries, and helps to relieve stress and create a clearer mindset."
