🍂 September feels a little different🍂

There is something about this time of year that invites us to pause and notice the changing season around us.

The leaves begin to change. The days become a little shorter. And slowly, the trees begin to let go.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how much we can learn from that.

The trees don't hold onto every leaf.

They let go when the time is right.

And perhaps we can do the same.

Sometimes we hold onto things because they are familiar. Sometimes because they once served us well. And sometimes simply because letting go can feel uncertain.

But letting go doesn't mean something wasn't important.

It can simply mean that its season has changed.

The trees release what they no longer need, rest through the winter, and when spring comes, they begin again.

New growth. New beginnings. A beautiful reminder that there is a natural rhythm to change.

So as we move into September, perhaps we can gently ask ourselves:

What am I ready to release?
What am I ready to make space for?

We don't have to know exactly what comes next.

Sometimes it's enough to simply let go of what we no longer need to carry and trust that, in time, something new will grow.

A PLACE TO BREATHE 🤍

Sometimes we all need a place where nothing is expected of us.

I’m one of the worst people for remembering to slow down. If I’m not at work, I’m working on the farm. If I’m not doing that, I’m trying to make time for the people I love. There always seems to be something that needs my attention.

But I’m learning that rest isn’t something we have to earn.

This Sunday, I’m flying to Yellowknife with 9 other ladies, and from there we’ll take a float plane to Hearne Lake Lodge.

I was there last year, and it truly is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.

It’s remote. Quiet. No cell service. No constant notifications. No rushing from one thing to the next.

Just nature, stillness, good company and space to breathe.

For me, Hearne Lake is one of those rare places where I can truly let go of the need to be doing something and simply be present.

Sometimes healing and recharging doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes we just need to step away from the noise, spend a little time in nature and give ourselves permission to rest.

We spend so much of our lives taking care of everything and everyone around us.

Never underestimate the importance of taking care of yourself, too. 🤍

I’m looking forward to returning to this beautiful place and giving myself permission to slow down, breathe and recharge.

🌿 **Taking time to recharge…** 🌿

White Owl Wellness will be closed for holidays August 10th–24th.

Rest and rejuvenation are important. We can’t continually give to others without taking time to pause, breathe and refill our own cup.

I’m looking forward to some time to slow down, enjoy the outdoors and simply be — so I can return refreshed and ready to support you.

Has your body forgotten how to relax?

There was something about this quiet morning that made me stop for a moment.

It reminded me how rarely we allow ourselves to simply be still.

You finally sit down at the end of the day...

…but your mind keeps racing.

Your shoulders stay tense.

Your jaw feels tight.

You wake up tired, even after what should have been a good night's sleep.

Sometimes our bodies carry far more than we realize.

At White Owl Wellness, I offer a calm, welcoming space where you can step away from the demands of everyday life and simply be.

My role is to provide a quiet, supportive space where your body has the opportunity to rest, relax, and reconnect with its natural sense of balance.

One of the things I love hearing from clients is that they leave feeling lighter—more settled, more relaxed, and better able to face whatever comes next.

Sometimes that's exactly what we need... not another thing to do, but a place to simply let go for a little while.

One of the ways I often describe the healing journey is like peeling the layers of an onion.

We gently peel back layer after layer—not because we're trying to become someone different, but because we're uncovering who we've always been.

As I've reflected on my own healing journey, I've found myself becoming curious about the solar plexus—the energy center often associated with our sense of self and our personal power.

Not power over others, but the quiet power to trust ourselves, know our worth, honor our boundaries, and live authentically.

It's the place where we often hold the beliefs we have about ourselves—our self-love, self-worth, self-value, self-confidence, self-respect, and self-trust.

Life has a way of adding layers: criticism, disappointment, fear, people-pleasing, and limiting beliefs. Over time, those layers can quietly separate us from our own personal power.

Healing isn't about creating a new version of ourselves. It's about gently peeling back those layers until we reconnect with the strength, wisdom, and authenticity that have been within us all along.

Maybe healing isn't about becoming someone else.

Maybe it's about remembering yourself.

As another week begins, I know many of us are still hoping for a break in the rain. It's been a challenging few weeks for our community, and I've been reminded how important it is to take time to care for ourselves—especially during stressful seasons.

There is something deeply humbling about being trusted by nature. 🤍
This beautiful doe spent much of the winter here, and now she's bringing her little one to visit. Every time I see them, I'm reminded that the energy we cultivate matters.
When we create spaces of peace instead of chaos, stillness instead of rushing, and gentleness instead of fear... perhaps the world around us notices.
Maybe she simply feels safe here.
Maybe it's instinct.
Or maybe there's something to be said for the quiet presence we bring into the world.
Whatever the reason, moments like this remind me to slow down, take a deep breath, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.
Nature has a remarkable way of showing us what it feels like to simply be. 🦌🤍

Something New is Coming to White Owl Wellness...

I'm excited to share that on Monday and Tuesday I'll be attending training to become certified in Vita Flex, a gentle, non-invasive therapy that works through specific reflex points on the body while you relax comfortably on a massage table.

Vita Flex uses gentle finger pressure on reflex points of the feet, hands, back, neck, head, and face to encourage the body's own natural healing responses. Many people find it deeply relaxing while supporting balance throughout both the body and mind.

One of the things that drew me to this modality is how beautifully it aligns with my philosophy at White Owl Wellness—supporting the nervous system, creating space for the body to restore itself, and meeting each person exactly where they are.

I love continuing to learn so I can offer my clients additional ways to support their healing journey.

Once I've completed my training and had time to integrate this new modality into my practice, I'll be sharing more details about what a Vita Flex session looks like and when it will be available to book.
