One of the biggest misconceptions I see in the nervous system world is this:
That every uncomfortable feeling needs to be regulated away.
Sometimes… it does.
And sometimes?
Your nervous system isn’t the problem.
Sometimes it’s pointing to something else .. something incredibly important, not to be explained away.
Your body might be telling you:
✨ This relationship isn’t healthy.
✨ This job is burning you out.
✨ This boundary needs to be set.
✨ This version of your life no longer fits who you’re becoming.
I don’t believe the goal of nervous system work is to become so regulated that we can tolerate situations that are harming us - and I hate that people teach this.
✨I believe it’s about becoming regulated enough to hear our own wisdom✨
Because there’s a big difference!
Your nervous system should help you respond to life with clarity…
Not convince you to stay somewhere your soul has already outgrown ❤️
That being said, I also think it’s important not to assume every uncomfortable feeling is a sign to make a dramatic life change.
Sometimes anxiety is an old survival pattern.
Sometimes it’s wisdom.
Part of healing -and what I teach people how to do - is learning to tell the difference.
And that’s the work I love most 🤩
Not just helping people feel calmer…
But helping them reconnect with themselves, so they know when to stay, when to leave, when to rest, when to speak up, and when to trust the quiet voice inside that has been there all along 🌸
Because healing isn’t about ignoring your body, or listening to every single thing it says - it’s about finally learning its language 💜
