Hope Centered Counselling

Hope Centered Counselling ROOTED IN COMPASSION. BUILT ON TRUST. CENTERED ON YOU. Here, your voice matters. Your pace is respected. Why HOPE Centered? That’s why we chose this name.

Hope Centered Counselling is a growing, community-rooted therapy practice offering compassionate, personalized mental health care for all ages, individuals, couples, and families across Ontario. This is a space where you can exhale, where your story is honoured, your pain is held with care, and your hope is gently rebuilt. At Hope Centered Counselling, we meet you as you are: not to fix, but to wa

lk with you toward healing, growth, and deeper self-understanding. And your journey is supported with grounded presence and real connection. Because hope is more than a feeling, it’s a force. At Hope Centered Counselling, we believe that hope can be life-changing, even (and especially) when it feels out of reach. Research shows that hope supports resilience, emotional well-being, and the ability to move through life’s hardest moments. But we also know that when you’re struggling, hope can be the first thing to disappear. Our mission is to hold onto hope for you when it feels distant, to nurture it, protect it, and help you find your way back to it. We believe hope is a human right. A steady light. A starting place for change. And when therapy is grounded in real connection, inclusive care, and inner work on both sides of the room, hope can grow again. This is the heart of our practice. It’s why we show up. And it’s what we’re here to offer. Every step of the way.

I’m pleased to share this event from CW Men Who Care.

🤝 Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to get to know both Chris Jess and Curt Hammond through various community initiatives, and I’ve seen firsthand the care, generosity, and dedication they bring to Centre Wellington.

👨‍🍳 One of the reasons I feel confident supporting this organization is the personal connection my family has with Chris. Many in our community know him as Chef Jess, and for the past several years he has been an important mentor to my son throughout his culinary journey in high school. Watching the impact of his leadership, encouragement, and commitment to helping young people grow has given me a deep appreciation for the kind of person he is and the values he brings to everything he does.

🌳 I have also had the privilege of getting to know Curt through our shared involvement in the community. Most recently, he was recognized for his efforts to preserve a significant local tree, an achievement that reflects his commitment to stewardship, advocacy, and protecting what matters for future generations. That dedication to community is something I deeply admire and one of the many reasons I am proud to support the work he is doing.

❤️ Centre Wellington Men Who Care creates opportunities for men to come together, support local causes, and strengthen our community in meaningful ways. If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, or there is a man in your life who could be looking for a meaningful way to give back locally, I encourage you to learn more through the event details below and consider sharing this opportunity with them.

Thank you to Chris, Curt, and everyone involved with Centre Wellington Men Who Care for the positive impact you’re making in our community.

Big news this summer 🌿 we’re growing our team and welcoming a Child, Youth, and Young Adult Therapist to support families in our community.

We know that families in our community are often facing long wait times when trying to access child-focused mental health support. While we deeply value the clinicians already serving this area, we also recognized a need for additional specialized care that aligns with our clinic’s values of relational, holistic, and individualized therapy.

We are very pleased to welcome Teresa Goodwin, Registered Social Worker, to the team 🎉

Teresa brings extensive experience supporting children, youth, young adults, and their families across community agencies, hospital settings, and child protection services. Earlier in her career, she also supported families in Centre Wellington, and she shares that returning to this community feels like coming home.

What makes Teresa’s work especially unique is her deeply relational and family-centered approach. In addition to working directly with young people, she integrates caregiver-focused support through Caregiver Coaching & Therapy Sessions 🧩 helping families better understand emotional and behavioural needs while building practical tools that strengthen connection and regulation within the home.

Her approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based, and strengths-focused, and she draws from a range of evidence-based modalities including CBT, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR, and Family Systems work 📚 Above all, she brings a warm, grounded, and human presence to her work with young people and their caregivers.

We are honoured to have Teresa join our clinic and support families in a way that looks beyond the individual child alone, and instead supports the entire system around them.

Please join us in warmly welcoming her to the team 🌱

Honoured to Be Named Business of the Year ❤️

We’re feeling incredibly grateful to have been recognized as Business of the Year at the 2026 Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce Awards of Excellence Paint the Town Red Gala.

What began as a small vision rooted in compassion, connection, and meaningful care has continued to grow because of the trust and support of our community, clients, team, and referral partners.

This recognition means so much to us, not only as a business, but as a space where people are welcomed exactly as they are during some of the most vulnerable and important moments of their lives.

We also have some exciting things happening behind the scenes, including welcoming several new therapists to our team, expanding our services for couples, children, career support, and grief therapy, and preparing for our move to a beautiful new space along the river. We’re incredibly excited for what’s ahead and for the ways we’ll continue growing alongside this community.

Thank you for supporting Hope Centered Counselling and for allowing us to do work that we genuinely care so deeply about. ❤️

Trying to figure out who you are while carrying expectations that don’t fully feel like your own?

We’re excited to introduce Seba Al-Jalam, a new therapist at Hope Centered Counselling in Fergus supporting youth, adults, and couples.

Seba works with clients navigating anxiety, stress, relationship struggles, identity exploration, life transitions, and the pressure of balancing personal needs with family, cultural, or professional expectations. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in helping people feel more clear, connected, and like themselves again.

Seba also offers therapy in both English and Arabic.

We’re incredibly grateful to have her on our team and can’t wait for clients to meet her at our award winning clinic!
