Somatics, Sound & Sunbeams - A Summer Solstice Slowdown Celebration

Join Crystal (EOY) & Michelle (The Balanced Birch) for an afternoon designed to slow you down, connect deeper to yourself and harness the power of the Summer Solstice to bring about lasting change and transformation, immersed in the medicine of sound, nature, movement, breath and community.
What to Expect: Join us as we take an intentionally soft approach to balancing the nervous system as we explore somatic work. The word 'Somatic' comes from the Greek soma, meaning "the living body". Somatic work leads from the idea that the body is not just a container for our thoughts and emotions, it is an active participant in how we feel, respond and recover. For this event, we will be focusing on introducing this work as we start to explore somatic tools, movement and exercises designed to help you tune into patterns stored in the body and support the nervous system as you begin to shift them through movement, breath, posture, and awareness.
You will rest deeply in supportive postures while receiving the gentle touch of Ayurveda massage, and explore the forest through sight, sounds, touch and smell.
Have you ever wondered what the trees and plants sound like? As we take a gentle stroll through the forest, we will introduce you to a specially crafted device which allows you to experience how the trees, fungi, and plant's tiny electrical signals are transformed into biofeedback plant music. We will explore how this feedback changes with touch, voice, sound. This is a very cool experience!
We will finish our time together settled around the campfire for an immersive sound journey and powerful fire ceremony to solidify the learnings of the day and harness the power of the Solstice to create the possibility for lasting change. Enjoy a traditional Solstice beverage and snacks.
