😍Grateful for Her Gift 😍
Almost 30 years ago, I was cutting the hair of a young family. I was newly pregnant and mentioned that my waistband felt unusually tight.
Without hesitation she smiled and said, “That’s because you’re having twins.”
At the time, I barely knew her. I didn’t think much of it.
She was right.
Today my twins are 27½ years old, and somehow that brief moment has stayed with me all these years. Not because her words changed anything—they didn’t change my pregnancy or my journey into motherhood—but because they became part of our story even until today.
Three decades later, we’re still close friends and made memories together—laughing as we rode a kid-sized motorized vehicle through a farm.
Over the years I’ve come to appreciate that we each have our own unique way of sensing and serving the world. Since 2008, my own path has led me into dowsing and working with the land. I’ve also met people in other professions who quietly use similar intuitive skills as part of their work, rarely talking about it publicly. Mostly we think of women with intuition and yes I agree but also men still dowse on the land for farming quietly combing old world skills with new world.
That has made me think about “the gift.” At the time she told me that truth of twins- I’d not yet practiced my gift. What she shared, stuck with me as mental and spiritual truth. I thank her for expressing her gifts.
Not everyone’s gift looks the same. Some people have a gift. Some for seeing possibilities that others miss.
Her gift was subtle but real. Mine is also in the subtle field but different. But what matters most is that we each offer something uniquely our own.
Today, I’m simply grateful.
Grateful for a friendship that has lasted nearly 30 years. Grateful for the moment she spoke words I’ll never forget.
And grateful that life has a way of bringing people together whose gifts quietly shape one another’s journey.
🥰I’m grateful for our community together.
Do you “have the gift?”
