Our courtyards were full of life today 🌼🌿
Residents and our recreation team got their hands a little dirty and their hearts a whole lot happier while planting flowers and tending to our courtyards. From picking out the perfect blooms to sharing laughs in the sunshine, it was a beautiful day of connection and creativity.
There’s just something special about gardening together - fresh air, bright colors, and plenty of smiles all around 💚

We’re looking for a little community support! 💚
Fort Langley Seniors Community is currently seeking donations of gently used patio furniture and bar stools in good condition to help enhance our outdoor and social spaces.
These items make a meaningful difference by creating comfortable, welcoming areas where residents can relax, connect, and enjoy the fresh air together.
If you have items to donate, we would love to hear from you! Please drop off donations in the lobby for collection and let a team member know.

Regular checkups and staying on top of your health also play an important role in prevention.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful Kindergarten students from Pacific Academy for bringing such a ray of sunshine into our home over the past few weeks! 🌈✨
At Fort Langley Seniors Community, we truly value our collaboration with local schools as we work together to build strong and meaningful community partnerships. It has been so special to watch our residents form new social connections and meaningful relationships with the younger generation. 💕
Our residents are always so proud to be called your “grandfriends,” and these visits have created joyful moments that will be cherished by all. 🥰
As summer approaches, we will be taking a short break during the school holidays, with hopes of welcoming you back again in the fall. 🍂 We already look forward to more smiles, laughter, and shared moments together!

🌼🎉 Happy Victoria Day! 🎉🌼
Yesterday our residents enjoyed celebrating the 104th annual May Day Parade right here in Fort Langley! There were smiles all around as we watched the vibrant floats, community groups, and festive spirit go by. We were especially lucky that the sunshine came out just in time, making the day even brighter and more enjoyable for everyone. ☀️
Moments like these bring back wonderful memories and create new ones together. 💛

🌸 Happy Nurses Week (May 11–17)! 🌸
This week at Fort Langley Seniors Community, we celebrated our incredible nurses with roses, tea, sandwiches, and little notebooks as a small thank‑you for the big hearts you bring every day. 💐☕🥪📓
We also had some fun trying out our brand‑new soft serve ice cream machine… because you all deserve a sweet treat! 🍦
Thank you to our hardworking, compassionate nurses for everything you do for our residents and our community. We appreciate you today and always! 💙

This week marks one that is near and dear to us: Nurses’ Week! We are so thankful for the incredible nurses across our Park Place communities who help bring compassion, dedication, and thoughtful care to our residents.

Each month, we highlight a STRIVE story from across our communities, which are examples of how our values show up in everyday moments. This month’s strive story comes from our sister location, Agassiz/Glenwood:
“A dedicated working group was established to improve the environment of the BSTN Care Unit, specifically for residents requiring specialized dementia care. The initiative centers on creating a comforting, home-like setting by incorporating thoughtful design, sensory comfort, and familiar elements. This approach aims to support the emotional well-being, dignity, and daily experiences of residents, reflecting a commitment to person-centred care. By fostering a sensory-friendly and familiar atmosphere, the program helps residents, families, and staff feel engaged, supported, and at ease. Ultimately, the initiative promotes dignity and well-being for residents while also bringing joy and purpose to families and staff, strengthening connections and creating a greater sense of home for everyone involved.”

This is just one example of how nurses across Park Place Communities continue to support meaningful experiences for our residents and help improve the quality of life for those they care for. We are so grateful for all of the nurses out there.

💐 Mother’s Day Celebrations 💐
We had a lovely time celebrating our wonderful mothers with a special Mother’s Day tea and a fun-filled round of Mother’s Day Bingo! Our ladies enjoyed spending time together and went home with gift bags and hand fans as prizes. It was a beautiful day filled with smiles, laughter, and appreciation for all they have given. 💕☕🎉
