🍻🇩🇪 Rivercrest Oktoberfest! 🇩🇪🥨

We brought a little taste of Germany to Rivercrest for happy hour! Residents enjoyed their regular favourite cocktails, along with German pilsner - Warsteiner, and grapefruit radler - Schöfferhofer, for something a little different. For the brave souls who wanted to venture further, we even offered some very small shots of Jägermeister… let’s just say it wasn’t everyone’s favourite! 😂🍻

We warmed up some delicious pretzels from Wetzel’s Pretzels, turned up the traditional German music, and even had our servers dressed for the occasion! With good company, tasty treats, and a few laughs along the way, we had ourselves a wunderbar afternoon! Prost! 🍺🥨💛

🧸💕 A big thank you to the The Doll Club of Edmonton for visiting us and sharing their wonderful presentation on dolls! From beautiful porcelain dolls to baby dolls and cuddly teddy bears, they had a little bit of everything you could imagine. 🪆✨

The best part? Every resident got to go home with a doll of their very own! 🥰 Thank you for bringing so many smiles, sweet memories, and a little extra joy to our residents! 💗

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🍂🥧🦃

Friday was a wonderful day at Rivercrest; We welcomed students from St. André Bessette Catholic School to make homemade pumpkin pies with our residents — and yes, even the crust was made from scratch! The creativity and beautiful decorations that went into each pie were so impressive, and our community clearly agreed! We sold all 22 pies before our official selling window even started, thanks to some very eager pie lovers! 🤗🥧

It was such a successful and heartwarming day that we’re already looking forward to doing something similar again!

As we head into Thanksgiving weekend, we’re reminded of just how much we have to be thankful for. We are incredibly grateful for our wonderful residents, dedicated staff, amazing volunteers, supportive community members, and the incredible organizations we’re fortunate to partner with. Your continued support and presence help make Rivercrest such a special place. 💛🧡🤎

From our Rivercrest family to yours, we wish everyone a very happy and special Thanksgiving weekend filled with love, laughter, good company, and maybe a slice (or two!) of pumpkin pie! 🦃🍁

Tomorrow morning, students from St. André Bessette Catholic School and Rivercrest residents will be working hard to make homemade pumpkin pies, just in time for thanksgiving! 🥧 Great news! We will be selling these as a fundraiser for $5.00 each! Please drop in between 2-5 Friday and Saturday to get your freshly homemade pumpkin pie and support our recreation department! While supplies last. Cash only please!🍁🍂☺️

We’re hoping to see some spooky little faces at Rivercrest on October 30th! Our residents have been busy putting together special Halloween treat bags and can’t wait to see everyone dressed up! 🧡

🍂🦬 A beautiful fall day at Elk Island National Park! 🦬🍂

Our residents enjoyed a scenic bus tour through the park, where we spotted two bison, plenty of birds, and some gorgeous fall scenery along the way. We also enjoyed some delicious pumpkin treats before heading home—and as if the day couldn’t get any better, we spotted an elk on our way back! 🦌🎃

A pretty perfect fall adventure! ❤️🍁

🧡💛 A little appreciation for some BIG community support! 💛🧡

We’d like to take a moment to recognize some of the amazing Fort Saskatchewan businesses and organizations who continue to show up for our residents and support the programs and activities we provide at Rivercrest. 🍂

🛒 Fort Saskatchewan Safeway has always been quick to lend a helping hand — from donating funds for pop and chips for our BBQ fundraisers, to pumpkins for our residents to carve, beautiful flowers for Mother’s Day, and gift cards for our fall raffles. Their generosity over the years has meant so much!

🌸 Freson Bros. Fort Saskatchewan has been incredibly kind, continuously donating beautiful flowers for our residents to arrange and enjoy, goodies for our BBQ fundraisers, and most recently, this amazing fall gift basket! 🎃🍁

🚑 Alberta Paramedical Services have also shown their generosity year after year by donating some fantastic items to help make our raffle fundraisers a success.

🎬 Fort Cinema was incredibly quick to respond when we reached out for raffle donations and generously put together a wonderful gift basket for our fall raffle!

It truly takes a community to make a difference, and we are so grateful for the businesses and organizations that continue to support our residents and help us create fun, meaningful experiences. ❤️

🍁 Fall has officially made its way to Rivercrest! 🎃

Today we traded summer vibes for pumpkins, colourful leaves, and a whole lot of autumn fun. Our residents helped deck out the halls, then got crafty making scarecrows and painting their own mini pumpkins. 🍂🧡

Safe to say, Rivercrest is officially ready for pumpkin season! 🎃
