In our rural community, ATVs are more than recreational vehicles; they are a part of everyday life. They are used on farms, ranches, trails, and back roads by people of all ages. With ATV use being so common in our community, we chose to partner with MADD who provided us with a crashed ATV as a powerful reminder that safety matters every time you ride.
This display represents the very real consequences that can result from a moment of impaired judgment or a simple decision to forgo a helmet. ATV crashes can happen in an instant, and the injuries are often life altering or fatal. Wearing a properly fitted helmet significantly reduces the risk of serious head injury, while operating an ATV under the influence of alcohol or drugs greatly increases the likelihood of a crash.
As members of this community, we have seen firsthand the heartbreak that preventable tragedies leave behind. Families, friends, neighbors, and entire communities feel the impact when a life is lost too soon.
We encourage everyone to make safe choices: wear a helmet every ride, never operate an ATV while impaired, and look out for one another. If this display causes even one person to think twice before riding without a helmet or while under the influence, it has served its purpose.
Together, we can help keep our families, friends, and community safe.
