A very special pickup day for sweet Tatum 💕👓

Throughout the month of April, a portion of every pair of glasses purchased at our clinic was donated to the Fort Saskatchewan Nourishment Centre.

Thanks to the incredible support of our patients and community, we were proud to donate $1,500 to help support the important work they do every day.

One of our owners, Kelly, had the opportunity to personally deliver the cheque and tour the Nourishment Centre. It was a truly humbling and beautiful experience to see firsthand the compassion, care, and support they provide to individuals and families in our community.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this possible. Supporting our community is something that means so much to us, and we’re honoured to give back alongside all of you. 💙

👁️ Why do we patch an eye in amblyopia?

It might seem a little counterintuitive at first—but patching the stronger eye is one of the most effective ways to treat “lazy eye” (amblyopia).

Here’s why 👇
When one eye is weaker, the brain starts to rely on the stronger eye and “ignore” the other. Over time, the weaker eye doesn’t develop the vision it should.

🩹 By placing a patch over the stronger eye, we gently force the brain to use the weaker one—helping it build stronger visual connections.

Consistency is key. Even a few hours a day can make a big difference when guided by an eye care professional.

Early treatment = better outcomes ✨
