🎶 We are especially grateful to the Country Classics Band, led by Calvin Brewer, alongside Bev Jewett and the rest of the boys. For the past four or five years, they have supported Positive Heart Living without ever charging us a penny. Their generosity and faithful friendship mean so much to us.

Since Walter’s House opened just over a year ago, six men have been part of our recovery home. We are especially excited to celebrate one gentleman who has reached ONE YEAR OF SOBRIETY! Throughout his time at the house, he has participated in CR at Hope City Church and other 12-step programs, putting steady effort into recovery.
That is why this work matters. A safe place to live, encouragement, and a community that believes in someone can help make room for a new beginning.
Across New Brunswick, families continue to lose loved ones to drug poisoning. The province’s latest published report, released in September, recorded 18 apparent substance toxicity deaths between January and March 2026. These figures are preliminary and may change as investigations are completed. Every one of those lives mattered.
Fentanyl, methamphetamine, and co***ne are concerns here at home: Fredericton police reported seizing all three in a March 2026 investigation. Provincial Public Health also warns that the drug supply is increasingly toxic and unpredictable. Education, overdose prevention, treatment, and recovery support all have a place in our community’s response.
We are planning a couple of online educational courses and will share more information as arrangements are confirmed. We want to help people understand the risks, recognize the need, and become part of the solution.
Positive Heart Living began in 1986. We operated as a registered charity until 2010 and have continued our mission as a nonprofit organization. We have never received government seed funding. Today, we are working on proposals to strengthen and expand our work, while every dollar we raise supports the mission and vision we continue to build together.
To our donors, volunteers, families, and wonderful board members—thank you. Many have stood beside this organization for years. Your time, kindness, and commitment have helped us reach this point, and we are ready to take the next step together.
