To help you get organized with your family's fall and winter activities, Dauphin Recreation Services hosts the annual Rec, Health & Leisure Mart.

This event is Dauphin's mass-registration night where you'll find all sorts of community and sport groups.

Come check out the different dance groups, sport organizations, arts, and community organizations.

We’re thrilled to welcome Holly of Smalltown Art and Wellness Studio as a partner at the Watson Art Centre!

Holly is an artist and art facilitator from Grandview, MB, as well as a Reiki Practitioner, Somatic Yin Yoga Teacher and Holistic Nutritionist.

She started Smalltown Art & Wellness Studio in Grandview in March 2024, with the dream of offering art classes and wellness experiences for people of all ages.

Now, she’s bringing that experience to Dauphin through a new partnership with the Watson Art Centre, offering weekly art classes for both kids and adults.

These classes focus on creative play and exploring self-expression. The emphasis is on the process of making art, and the sense of belonging that comes from creating together in a community.

As Holly likes to say, “You don’t have to be good at art for art to be good for you.”

The classes are low-pressure and welcoming to complete beginners. All you need is a little curiosity and a willingness to show up and try something new.

We’re excited to have Holly and Smalltown Art and Wellness Studio as part of the Watson community!

Dauphin & area friends! We have our next Art Club dates for kids and adults all ready to go 🥳

A few new changes to note:
🌟 All classes are now at the Watson Art Centre - we are so excited to be in this beautiful building
🌟 Classes are now on Wednesdays
🌟 Classes for kids are now weekly(!!) and we have 2 separate age groups/times
🌟 Classes for adults are now weekly, too

As always, you don't need to be "good" at art to try our classes, talking to the adults especially 😉 You just need curiosity and a willingness to try something new. Being among friends always helps, too 💛

Who knew weaving blankets for kitties could be so fun?! This was one of the fave projects of the summer, and I'm excited to do it again next week at our final Art Camp.

The kids loved weaving so much that when I asked them if they wanted to take a 5 minute break to play a game in the open area, they all insisted we continue weaving instead 😅

My helper and I will be spending the week crafting at the Watson Art Centre starting tomorrow. There's still room if you have a young artist who would like to join us for a day or two, or the whole week:

We did our first sewing projects this summer! Each lesson, I was blown away how much the kids enjoyed it. I always loved sewing as a kid too, and it was exciting for everyone to try something new.

In Art Camps, we sewed our own tic-tac-toe travel bags, stitched our own notebooks, and then free stitched these cute little burlap frames. Aren't they sweet?

Next week, we have our final Art Camp of the summer at the Watson Art Centre 🌞 There's still room if your kids would like to join:
