When you’re triggered, make a U-turn before pointing the finger.
Ask yourself: What is this bringing up in me? What wound, fear, or belief has been activated?
Healing begins with understanding our own triggers and recognizing what is ours to work through. From there, consider whether the relationship and the situation warrant a conversation about the interpersonal experience. Not every relationship requires that discussion, but some do.
Lasting change doesn’t come from trying to change others. It comes from knowing yourself.
