Have you noticed that your hair loss seems concentrated in one area more than others? That pattern is actually telling us something important.
Follicles in different areas of the scalp have different sensitivities to hormones — particularly DHT. The follicles at the crown and temples tend to be more sensitive, which is why androgenetic hair loss typically follows a recognisable pattern, targeting those zones first.
Diffuse thinning spread all over the scalp, on the other hand, tends to suggest a different cause — usually nutritional, thyroid-related, or connected to stress or hormonal shifts. The distribution of loss is one of the first things we assess because it gives us important clinical information about what is most likely driving it.
Where and how your hair loss is presenting matters. It is not just a cosmetic detail, it is a clinical clue.
Is your hair loss more concentrated in one area or spread evenly? Tell me in the comments — I am always curious about the patterns people notice.
