What creates RESILIENCE in a WOMAN? ♥️

Many of us were taught that resilience means being able to handle everything.

Keep going.
Keep giving.
Keep achieving.
Keep smiling.

But that’s not resilience.

That’s often survival.

True resilience isn’t about never feeling overwhelmed.

It’s about having the capacity to move through life’s challenges without losing yourself in the process.

Research has shown that resilience is influenced by a combination of physical, emotional, and social factors. Some of the most important include:

✨ A regulated nervous system that can recover after stress.
✨ Meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging.
✨ Regular movement that supports both body and mind.
✨ Quality sleep and adequate recovery.
✨ Healthy boundaries that protect your energy.
✨ Self-compassion instead of constant self-criticism.
✨ A sense of purpose and connection to what matters most.

Notice that none of these require you to be “strong” all the time.

Resilience isn’t about carrying more.

It’s about building the inner resources that help you recover, adapt, and continue moving forward.

This is one of the reasons I believe practices like yoga, meditation, breathwork, and creating space to reconnect with yourself are so powerful.

They don’t remove life’s challenges.

They help us develop the capacity to meet them with greater steadiness, awareness, and self-trust.

If you’re in a season that feels heavy, I hope you remember this…

You don’t have to become someone stronger to make it through.

You don’t have to have all the answers.

You don’t have to carry everything alone.

👉 Sometimes resilience looks like asking for help.
👉 Sometimes it looks like resting without guilt.
👉 Sometimes it looks like taking one slow, intentional breath before responding.
👉 Sometimes it looks like believing that even in the midst of uncertainty, you will find your way.

Because resilience isn’t something you’re born with.

It’s something that’s gently built every time you choose yourself.

And believe me when I say - that’s where your greatest strength has always been. ♥️

🤍 Reflection: When you look at the list above, which pillar of resilience feels strongest in your life right now? And which one is quietly asking for a little more of your attention?

Before you spend another school year pouring into others… spend one day returning to yourself. 🌿

If you’re an educator, you know this season.

The classroom starts calling.

Lesson plans begin filling your mind.

You start thinking about routines, students, schedules, and everything that comes with a new school year.

Before all of that begins, we want to invite you to pause.

Join Shelley Hoffos and Dani Tarini for Return to Yourself, a one-day retreat created specifically for educators. Together, we’ve thoughtfully designed a day to help you reconnect with yourself before stepping back into the classroom.

We’ll move through gentle yoga, meaningful reflection, creativity, a nourishing catered lunch, and a deeply restorative Deep Rest Journey featuring Yoga Nidra, Reiki & Energy Healing, and a live Sound Journey.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day is creating your own Reset Anchor. A personalized visual reminder for your classroom, office, or workspace that gently invites you to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself throughout the school year.

Because caring for yourself isn’t something that happens once.

It’s something you return to, again and again.

Yoga vs. Pilates vs. Strength Training… Which is better?

The truth is—they each serve a different purpose, and all three can play an important role in your health.

💪 Strength Training
• Builds muscle and bone density
• Increases metabolism
• Improves strength and power
• Supports healthy aging
• Helps with body composition

✨ Pilates
• Strengthens the deep core muscles
• Improves posture and spinal alignment
• Enhances body awareness and control
• Increases muscular endurance
• Excellent for rehabilitation and injury prevention

🧘 Yoga
• Improves flexibility, mobility, and balance
• Increases joint health and range of motion
• Strengthens the body using functional movement
• Improves breathing and lung capacity
• Helps regulate the nervous system, reducing stress and promoting relaxation
• Encourages mindfulness and greater awareness of the body and mind

One of yoga’s most unique benefits is its effect on the nervous system. Through intentional breathing, mindful movement, and moments of stillness, yoga helps shift the body from “fight or flight” into “rest and restore.” This can support better sleep, improved focus, reduced stress, and an overall greater sense of well-being.

Rather than asking which is best, the better question is:

What does your body need today?

For many people, the healthiest routine includes a combination of strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and yoga—because together they support strength, mobility, recovery, and long-term health.
