💙 Walking Together for a Cause 💙
In addition to supporting this year’s Alzheimer’s Walk, our residents and staff participated in a special in-house walk to show our continued support for the important work of the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka.

It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, raise awareness, and honour those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event so meaningful.

A big thank you to the Muskoka Steamships and the Discovery Centre for treating our staff to a complimentary cruise aboard the Wenonah II and a tour of the Discovery Centre.

Our team had a wonderful time enjoying the experience and making great memories together. We truly appreciate your generosity and hospitality!

Residents at The Alexander are making the most of the warm weather, enjoying time outdoors and preparing the garden for a season of growth. It’s wonderful to see our community come together to plant, connect, and celebrate the arrival of spring.

Residents of The Alexander were treated to a wonderful performance by the talented Elderberries Choir. Entertaining the Gravenhurst community since 1991, the choir brought their enthusiasm and musical talents to our residents, creating an enjoyable and memorable experience for all who attended.

Walking Together for a Cause Close to Our Hearts 💙

Today, our team, The Alexander Memory Care Crew, was proud to participate in the Walk for Alzheimer's in support of the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka.

Thanks to the generosity of our team members, families, friends, and community supporters, we raised $1,000 to help support programs and services for individuals living with dementia and their care partners.

In addition to walking, we were honoured to sponsor the event by providing fresh fruit, bottled water, for participants throughout the day and photography support.

Supporting those living with memory loss is at the heart of everything we do. We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our community, raise awareness, and contribute to a cause that impacts so many families.

A heartfelt thank you to the organizers, volunteers, participants, donors, and supporters who helped make today's event such a success. Together, we are making a difference. 💙

🌸☕ What a beautiful afternoon celebrating the wonderful mothers and women of our community at our Mother’s Day High Tea!

Residents enjoyed an elegant tea service, delicious treats, wonderful conversation, and the chance to dress up for the occasion. The room was filled with laughter, smiles, and so many special moments shared together.

🌍 World Hand Hygiene Day | Clean Hands, Safe Community 💚

At The Alexander Muskoka Residence, the health and safety of our residents is at the heart of everything we do.
One of the ways this is supported is through the Green Badge system, developed by Hygienic Echo.

Staff wear the badge throughout their shift:

🟢 It glows green when hand hygiene is performed
⏱️ Provides interval-based reminders every 15 minutes
📍 Uses location sensors in high-risk areas to prompt hand hygiene

Together, these smart prompts help build consistent habits and keep hand hygiene top of mind in a dynamic, shared living environment.
