Honestly feel this so much lately and felt the need to share. I have been talking about this lots with my patients lately and I feel like a lot of us are in the same boat.

This may seem backwards to some physios out there but in my practice, I like to give my patients options for treatments in sessions so we can decide together on our next steps! Especially comes in handy when we have so many options and to be honest it helps with my decision fatigue as a clinician.

I feel like this helps my patients to be more a part of the process and helps with my decision fatigue to be quite frank.

Just wanted to share these thoughts!💭

Reasons why I workout and lift heavy. It’s not just for my mental health but also so I can enjoy all these activities!

Plus lifting the canoe like a boss with our food barrel is always fun to shock the dudes around me who think she can’t do it! Love to prove them wrong đŸ’ȘđŸ»

Did you know??

I get asked this often if I do more than pelvic physio and the answer is HECK YES I DO! I love to treat both general injuries (MSK) and pelvic floor physio.

I love it when one patient starts as one area and we morph into other treatment. Means I’m doing my job right and my patients want to come back to see me.

So yes ultimately I do both and like the flexibility to do both as well! Gives me a brain break from either one.

How’s everyone been feeling lately?? I know I’m itching for some spring weather in Sudbury đŸŒžđŸŒ·

Let’s hear what everyone is reading, listening to, and excited about lately!

Always open to new book suggestions and gossiping about them during appointments too 👀📚

5 signs you may need to see a physio that you may be overlooking. Thoughts to keep in mind if you have been saying to yourself “I just need to give it time to heal” and yes I have been guilty of thinking all the same things myself.

1. Pushing through pain or discomfort is not normal, especially if you are consistently doing it. It’s your body’s way of saying something is not right and needs to be looked at.

2. Avoiding movements intentionally or not is a big sign that something is wrong.

3. Not trusting the area even with going up or down the stairs is not normal. Your body is trying to compensate away from doing these movements.

4. Recurring pain. It can be cyclical and never seems to fully get better.

5. Delaying or avoiding tasks entirely is never a good sign especially with everyday activities like doing the laundry or going grocery shopping.

If any of these sound familiar it’s time to call your physio to get back in for a session! Or to book in for a new assessment entirely!

Got up to lots of activity this weekend! Feeling so blessed that I am able to do all these activities and have friends/a husband who also enjoys them.

Getting past being a beginner snowboarder in my late 20s HURTS SO BAD! So many falls but so worth it as I get better each time. Absolutely LOVE my new snowpants by Dope Snow, the pattern is so fun right?!

What did you get up to this weekend before returning to work?

Yes, even just getting outside for a walk counts!

As the holiday season draws ever closer it’s important to remember to slow down and take time for yourself too!

I loved visiting with my family this past weekend for an early Christmas 🎄 which was rejuvenating all on its own but also feel the busyness of the clinic (good thing I swear).

Taking my own advice to slow down and enjoy a good book! Romantasy style
ps always looking for more book recommendations 🧐🧐

FYI to any and all returning patients!

We don’t usually need a full assessment unless I haven’t seen you in 1-2 years or more OR if something drastic has changed in your health.

Makes life so much easier for you to get back into the clinic â˜ș

Have been feeling the need to make this post lately
yes I do love to chat with my patients about what’s going on in their lives (and mine too). But also please know there’s times I don’t need to have multiple tell me in a day I look tired or I’m too thin. Unfortunately I am aware of this due to health reasons lately but they are improving thankfully đŸ©ș
