Educators, when was the last time you had space to exhale?
You spend your days teaching, planning, responding, supporting, problem-solving, regulating, and holding space for others. And often, the school day ends long before your nervous system gets the message that it can finally slow down.
This fall, Ryan Spies Art Therapy and Janet DeGazon, RP are offering The Educator’s Exhale — a 7-week restorative art therapy group created specifically for educators.
This is not another professional-development session, productivity strategy, or list of things you should be doing to take better care of yourself.
It is a space to pause, create, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.
Together, we’ll use art therapy and reflective practices to explore:
• burnout and the stress cycle
• nervous system regulation
• overstimulation and emotional load
• boundaries and sustainable care
• rest, reflection, and reconnection through creativity
You do not need to consider yourself artistic or have any previous art experience. The focus is not on what you create — it is on what the creative process can offer you.
Over seven weeks, we’ll gently explore what you carry as an educator, how stress shows up in your body, what helps you move through it, what may no longer be yours to hold, and how you can offer a little more care to your future self before reaching the point of depletion.
