It strikes out of nowhere, sneaking up like a predator to prey. When there is nothing left, no words to scream, no sounds left to express the depth of the pain, only tears are left. They speak the things our hearts cannot.

Your life feels turned upside down.
What you used to enjoy doesn’t fill you any more.
Things shift.
What fit before doesn’t fit now.
Your world is not the same.
You are not the same.

Loss does that.

Loss changes everything and nothing all at once.

The world goes on and it feels like you don’t.

Can’t.

And so this sounds like a lie…

It will get easier.

Just a bit.

A tiny bit.

One tiny bit at a time.

In your own time.
