You may not always have the words to explain what you’re going through, and that’s where art can offer another way to express, explore, and make sense of your experiences. You don’t need any art experience. Together, we can use colour, shape, texture, and different creative materials to support coping, soothing, reflection, and those “aha” moments along the way.
I offer art psychotherapy from a feminist, anti-oppressive, and client-centred approach, while also drawing from narrative therapy and more than 15 years of front-line experience supporting diverse women, 2SLGBTQ1+ individuals, children, and youth. My work has included supporting people navigating trauma, IPV, trafficking, depression, anxiety, mental health challenges, systemic barriers, and major life experiences.
I also celebrate neurodivergence and welcome children and youth who may be learning more about their sensory, creative, and expressive needs. My goal is to create a caring, non-judgmental therapeutic space where communication can feel safe and where each person’s story, identity, culture, and way of expressing themselves is respected.
Nature and sustainability are also meaningful parts of my practice. Clients are welcome to incorporate natural materials, fabrics, found objects, plants, or culturally meaningful items into the art-making process to support memory, connection, and meaning-making.
