This week, our Guelph clinical team gathered for staff rounds to discuss the latest evidence surrounding neuromuscular training and concussion prevention in sport.

A special thank you to Harjot Suri, a McMaster Physiotherapy candidate currently completing his clinical rotation at Shift Concussion Management Guelph under the supervision of our very own Keira Stroyan, MScPT, for leading the presentation and sharing his insights with the team.

While no program can eliminate the risk of concussion entirely, emerging research continues to support the role of targeted warm-up and neuromuscular training programs in reducing overall injury risk and potentially lowering concussion incidence in certain athletic populations.

Regular rounds sessions like these help our team stay current with the latest research and translate that knowledge into practical strategies for the athletes, patients, and organizations we work with every day.

Behind every great rehab session is a great team 👏

Meet Mikayla & Roland—two of the friendly faces you’ll see in the gym at our Guelph clinic.

They play a key role in guiding patients through their functional rehabilitation programs, helping bridge the gap between assessment and real-world recovery—whether you’re recovering from a concussion or working through another injury.

Mikayla brings a strong background in kinesiology and hands-on clinical experience, with a passion for patient education and individualized care (and is currently advancing her training in osteopathic manual sciences).

Roland combines his kinesiology studies with a background in sport, helping patients build confidence through movement, strength, and conditioning.

Both are known for their positive energy, supportive approach… and the occasional extra push when you need it 💪

We’re lucky to have them as part of the team!
