Today’s Facial Plastics Friday is all about why modern lower eyelid surgery is about restoring, not removing.

For this patient, Dr. Brace performed a scarless lower eyelid blepharoplasty using a transconjunctival approach, meaning all of the work was done from inside the eyelid with no external incision.

Rather than removing the under-eye fat (which can leave patients looking hollow over time) he carefully repositioned it into the tear trough to restore natural volume. He then used fat grafting from the abdomen to smooth the transition from the lower eyelid to the cheek, creating a softer, more youthful contour.

To finish the result, a CO₂ laser was used to improve the quality of the delicate lower eyelid skin, and the result is brighter eyes, softer shadows, and a natural-looking rejuvenation.

This beautiful patient underwent a lower eyelid blepharoplasty with fat transposition, fat grafting, and CO₂ laser resurfacing to restore a smooth, refreshed under-eye appearance.

The goal was to restore volume where it had been lost, to soften shadows, and create a natural transition from the lower eyelid to the cheek.

Think you’re doing everything right when it comes to SPF? ☀️ 

You might be missing a few key steps.
Here are the most common sunscreen mistakes we see:

1. Not reapplying every 2 hours
One application won’t protect you all day. Reapply every 2 hours AND after swimming, sweating, or towel drying.

2. Forgetting your neck and chest
These areas are exposed to the sun every day and are often the first to show signs of aging.

3. Leaving your scalp unprotected
A wide-brim hat is one of the easiest ways to protect your face, scalp, ears, and neck from harmful UV rays.

4. Relying on the SPF in your makeup
SPF in foundation or tinted moisturizer is a great bonus, but it’s not a replacement for a dedicated sunscreen underneath.

It’s Facial Plastics Friday, where we walk through real patient cases, treatment plans, and the details behind facial rejuvenation procedures with Dr. Brace.

This week’s featured treatment: Deep Plane Face + Neck Lift with Submentoplasty

The main concern for this patient was the heaviness she was seeing through her neck. This is a very common reason patients come in for a consultation, often wondering if a neck lift alone is enough.

In this video, Dr. Brace explains why the answer is often more layered. The face and neck age together, so when the lower face begins to descend, it can contribute to heaviness and fullness through the neck. To create a natural result, the goal is not just to tighten one area, but to restore support in the right places.

Her surgical plan included a deep plane face and neck lift to reposition the deeper facial tissues, along with submentoplasty to further refine the area under the chin.

Dr. Brace also talks about why this approach helps avoid a result that looks pulled or unnatural, and how the incisions continue to improve as healing progresses.

Today, Dr. Brace is walking through a 1-year reductive rhinoplasty result and explaining how a smoother side profile can be created while keeping the nose looking natural from the front.
