Therapy with Taylor Geim

Therapy with Taylor Geim I offer in-person and online therapy for teens and adults with flexible weekday hours. Compassionate support to meet you where you are, every step of the way.

Seeking support can be challenging; though, a courageous step on your journey to healing. I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative space, where we can work together to enhance well-being. As a Registered Psychotherapist, I am here to support you. My goal is to work with you to achieve goals, resolve challenges, and live healthier lives. I take a client-centred and traum

a-informed approach in session. To support my practice, I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. In our work together, we would collaboratively create a treatment plan that suits you and your therapeutic journey. With experience working in addictions, post-secondary student wellness, private practice, and social service settings, I am excited to offer virtual and in-person counselling for the adolescent (13-17) and adult (18+) population. If you are interested in working together, please email me to set up a 15-minute consultation, free of charge.

In my work, I encourage others to book the trip, take the leap, and choose themselves.

This time, I finally did the same. I decided that I was worth the trip.

Portugal reminded me that it’s okay to sit a little longer and enjoy where I am instead of always thinking about what’s next.

I fell in love with the quiet mornings, ocean air, and pastel de nata breaks.

My main takeaway from this trip is that it is time to slow down. To choose myself. To be grateful for what I have.

This was a chance to reconnect with myself. And to see the world from a different perspective.

I boarded my flight home a little lighter, a little softer, a little more myself. And for that, I am truly grateful.

Here is to practicing what I preach and remembering that I am worthy too. ✨

If your study session looks like this, you’re not alone.

When your brain keeps avoiding a task, it’s not because you don’t care. It is likely due to feeling overwhelmed.

This exam season, try focusing on just one thing at a time:

One page.
One question.
One concept.
One step.

REMEMBER to meet yourself where you are:

→ Create a priority list and make it feel manageable.

→ Set a 25-minute timer to work, then take a 10-minute break (repeat).

→ Change your environment.

→ Take intentional breaks to move, nourish, rest, and hydrate your body.

→ Use small rituals to get started (background music, make a tea or coffee, grab a cozy blanket, light a candle).

You don’t need perfect focus to begin, just a smaller first step. ✨

Rainy Friday 🌧️

If today feels slow, scattered, or a little heavy, that’s okay.

Take a breath.

Not everything needs to be finished today.

Not every message needs a reply right away.

Let the rain be your permission to pause for a minute.

☕️ Make a warm drink.
🧘🏻‍♀️ Sit with your thoughts.
📖 Read a book.
✨ Create a warm, safe, and cozy space.

You’re allowed to move gently today.

Doing your best doesn’t look the same every day.

Some days it’s productivity, focus, and momentum. Other days it’s simply getting out of bed, taking a shower, or sending one message you’ve been avoiding.

Both are valid. Both count.

Your capacity changes with your energy, your stress, your sleep, and what life is asking of you. Real self-compassion means adjusting expectations instead of punishing yourself for being human.

Progress isn’t about showing up perfectly.

Progress is about showing up honestly with what you have today.

So if today’s “best” looks different than yesterday’s, that’s okay.

It’s still your best. And that’s enough. ✨

Before holding space for others, I take a moment to reconnect with myself.

A few quiet brushstrokes, a deep breath, and a reminder that caring for myself isn’t optional in this work - it’s essential.

→ Creating without pressure.
→ Feeling without explaining.
→ Letting myself exist in the moment.

This is self-care. ✨

What’s something small you do to ground yourself before the day begins?

March invites growth. Just like the seasons change, so can we.

As the light lingers a little longer and the air begins to shift, this month offers a quiet reminder: change doesn’t have to be dramatic to be meaningful.

Growth can be gentle, intentional, and steady.

Take a moment to reflect:

→ What’s one emotional habit you’d like to leave behind this month?
→ What’s one mindset you want to nurture?

Maybe it’s moving beyond self-criticism, people-pleasing, or avoidance. And inviting self-compassion, boundaries, or curiosity.

REMEMBER, growth isn’t about turning into someone else. It’s about uncovering and embracing your most authentic self.

✨How can therapy support? ✨

Therapy can be a place to reset, reflect, and gently grow. A space to untangle patterns, process emotions, and practice new ways of being with support, compassion, and guidance along the way.

If March feels like a turning point, even a small one, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

✨ Three Years ✨

Today marks 3 years since I opened my psychotherapy practice, and I’m feeling incredibly grateful. Grateful for the clients who’ve trusted me with their stories, the growth I’ve witnessed (clients and my own), and the steady reminder of the meaningful change that happens in a therapeutic space.

What started as a hopeful leap has grown into work that continues to challenge and inspire me every day. I’m so proud of what this practice has become, and I’m even more excited about what’s ahead.

There are some exciting changes and expansions coming soon! More on that very shortly 👀

Thank you for being part of this journey, whether you’ve been here from the beginning or just found your way here recently.

Here’s to growth, healing, and another year in practice ✨

As a therapist, I often see how New Year’s resolutions can turn into pressure rather than support. It is important to remember that healing and growth don’t need deadlines, rather patience, curiosity, and a willingness to meet yourself where you are.

For this reason, I don’t favour New Year’s resolutions because life isn’t linear, and shame isn’t a motivator.

Instead, I invite people to choose one word.

→ A word you can return to on hard days.
→ A word that guides decisions without demanding perfection.
→ A word that leaves room for being human.

Resolutions often sound like: “I must change.”

A word sounds like: “This is how I want to show up.”

Examples:
✨ Growth
✨ Consistency
✨ Curiosity
✨ Balance

Your word doesn’t need to be productive. It doesn’t need to impress anyone. It just needs to feel true.

This year, my word is INTENTIONAL. To be intentional about how I care for myself, how I spend my energy, and what I say yes to. To be intentional about presence over productivity, and compassion over perfection.

What’s your word this year?
