It is with sadness and respect that we share the news of the passing of the Mayor of Dysart et al, Murray Fearrey. He was a kindhearted man who cared deeply about the County of Haliburton and all its communities.

Whether you agreed with his point of view or not, he respected open debate and differing perspectives.

He was instrumental in helping secure the transformational support needed to bring a CT scanner to our community. Murray understood the community-wide impact that investment would have on our collective health — and he was right.

His legacy will live on through the strong community bonds he built over generations.

Our condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and constituents, rest in peace Mayor Fearrey.
