Approximately 1 in 5 Canadians live with chronic pain (Health Canada), and physiotherapy can help.

Physiotherapists can be a valuable resource in the management of chronic pain by providing safe, non-invasive, and non-pharmacological treatment approaches that focus on:
- Improving movement and function
- Reducing pain
- Building strength and confidence
- Providing education

Treatment may include individualized exercise programs, manual therapy, pacing strategies, and self-management tools to help people manage and understand their pain.

Physiotherapists can provide people with the right support to build confidence, improve mobility, and enhance overall quality of life.

We know that strong muscles and good flexibility are important for supporting healthy joints. When these are improved, people often experience less pain and better function.

If you have arthritis and are curious how physiotherapy can help, feel free to reach out.

Have you ever noticed your back feeling worse in the morning? If so, you’re definitely not alone.

Our muscles and joints generally like movement, so no wonder our bodies can feel stiff and sore after staying in one position overnight. For many people, gentle movement in the morning can help things gradually ease and feel more comfortable.

If you are struggling with morning back pain, or it doesn’t seem to be improving, feel free to reach out with questions 💬

Does this look familiar? This cycle happens when you start avoiding certain movements or activities. Maybe because they’ve hurt in the past, or because you worry they’ll make things worse.

This is a completely normal and understandable response. Your brain is trying to protect you from pain.

But over time, avoiding movement can lead to things feeling harder. Muscles can weaken, joints can stiffen, and your stamina and confidence can start to drop.

And just like in the boom–bust cycle, your nervous system becomes more sensitive. Pain shows up more easily, even with movements that once felt fine.

A big part of physiotherapy is helping you gradually build back movement and confidence. This approach can help break the cycle.
