Meet BRIGHT Run 2026 Survivor Spokesperson, Jenna Smith-Turchyn 💗

The physiotherapist's career trajectory changed because of her breast cancer experience.

Diagnosed with breast cancer at just 26 years old, Jenna faced surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and more...all while building a career, getting married, and planning for the future. Determined not to let cancer define her, she completed the BRIGHT Run 5K just two days after her first chemotherapy treatment and has participated every year since with her team, Jenna's Joggers.

Today, Jenna is a physiotherapist, researcher, mother of two, and passionate advocate for cancer rehabilitation. Her BRIGHT Run-funded research is helping improve quality of life for people undergoing cancer treatment across Ontario.

“No one has to walk the path alone,” she said. “I want us to celebrate all the research BRIGHT Run has supported and the courage of patients and survivors.”
