If you know Grief then you know…

Healing isn’t becoming untouched.
It’s becoming aware.

You can be self-aware, love yourself deeply, have healthy skills… and still have old wounds get activated.

The goal isn’t perfection.
The goal is noticing, responding with compassion, and showing up for yourself a little more each time.

When emotions are highly activated—especially anger—your nervous system shifts into protection mode.
And when that happens, most people stop trying to understand and start reacting to defend, attack, shut down, or protect themselves.

That’s why trying to address conflict while emotionally flooded often damages the conversation before it even begins.

Taking space to regulate yourself isn’t avoidance.
It’s emotional responsibility.

The goal isn’t to suppress your feelings.
It’s to support yourself enough that your emotions stop controlling the conversation.

Going to therapy without knowing what to say is a bit like going to a doctor when you know something feels off, but you can’t explain exactly why. You don’t need the diagnosis — you just need to show up and describe what you’re experiencing. The professional helps make sense of the rest.

You’re not wrong for bringing up multiple concerns.
They often are connected and valid.

But when you bring them up all at once, two things happen:

1. You can both lose focus.
2. The original issue gets buried.

Now you’re both trying to track multiple problems—and nothing actually gets resolved.

Overload can set in.
Emotions rise.
Clarity drops.
And instead of understanding each other…
you both end up in frustration, shutdown, or going in circles.

What started as one conversation turns into everything that’s ever been wrong.

Consider this instead:
Stay with one issue. Fully.
Then move to the next.
