Overdue post! But I want to share that my old friend and colleague from Glebe Center days in Waterloo has joined WPC. Maria is the kind of person and therapist that I just completely trust. Her areas of specialty are Anxiety, OCD, depression and trauma, and she is a real expert in using ACT. In- person Thursdays and online other days. To paraphrase psychologist Carl Rogers, who himself may have been unwittingly paraphrasing Taoist wisdom - Acceptance itself is healing - acceptance itself is change. We often think of acceptance as a WAY to change, but it is actually the end itself. Self-Acceptance, truly, is the greatest healing and revelation there is.
