I’m actually in tears! 🥹🥹🥹
There are moments in life where your professional work and your personal life unexpectedly meet. 🙏
After almost five years of training, consultation, practice, deep learning, from some of the most brilliant minds in the field of somatics, I have officially become a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP).
Receiving this certification at this particular moment feels deeply meaningful.
Just days later, I found myself coming home from the hospital while healing from a severe flare of ulcerative colitis, an experience that forever changed my relationship with my body.
For years, I have sat with clients talking about nervous systems, embodiment, the wisdom of the body, and what it means to move toward healing. And then life invited me into a different kind of learning, not from the therapist’s chair, but from the hospital bed.
My body became my greatest teacher.
It taught me about surrender. About receiving care. About slowing down. About grief. About aliveness. About rebuilding trust in a body that no longer felt predictable.
This experience has changed not only the therapist I am, but the human being I am becoming.
this certification is a beautiful reminder that the deepest learning often happens when life asks us to embody the very work we offer others.
Deep gratitude to every teacher, mentor, client, colleague, and person who has walked alongside me over these past five years. Especially Dave Berger, Ariel Giarretto, Parneet Chohan and forever who walked with me through my advanced year and will forever ever be grateful for our connection.
Here’s to continuing to trust the wisdom of the body even in the toughest times.
