In Loving Memory ~ Norma Lee Boser
1963~2026, Lived 62 Years

The family of Norma Lee Boser (Ayrey) are saddened to announce her passing on Friday, August 21, 2026, in Hanna, Alberta, at the age of 62, just days before her 63rd birthday.

Norma was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan, on August 29, 1963, to William and Evelyn Ayrey. She grew up alongside her four siblings, Bill, Laura, Pat, and Sandy.

Norma is a mother to three children, Curtis, Jennifer, and Trevor, and later cherished her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren were an important part of her life, and she enjoyed going to their activities. Whether it was dance, hockey, ball, 4-H, or another event.

The Hanna community was fortunate to have Norma serve as a hairstylist for many years. She also owned and operated her own hair salon in Hanna, where she became a familiar and valued part of the community. Her salon was more than a place to have your hair done, it was also a place where Norma supported countless local causes, often selling tickets and helping organizations whenever she could.

Giving her time to others came naturally to Norma. Over the years, she volunteered with and supported many community organizations and events, including the Hanna Legion, youth curling, the Community Garden, the Hanna Rodeo Association, and the Hanna Youth Club, where she helped organize events for local teenagers and provided supervision. She was also an enthusiastic supporter of 4-H when her grandchildren became involved.

Norma enjoyed curling herself and participated in many bonspiels in the surrounding communities over the years. More than anything, though, she was the kind of person who was always willing to lend a hand. If a group was short of volunteers, Norma was often there to help, never looking for recognition or expecting anything in return.

In her spare time, Norma enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, and pickling vegetables. She generously shared the fruits of her labour with family, friends, and others in the community. Many people were fortunate to enjoy one of Norma's homemade meals or a package of her baking. During harvest, she would prepare and deliver meals to families working long days in the fields, always making sure there was plenty for leftovers. At Christmas, friends and family could often count on receiving some of her homemade baking.

Helping others was simply part of who Norma was. Whether it was a meal, a jar of preserves, some Christmas baking, her time, or a helping hand, she gave freely and quietly, never asking for recognition or anything in return.

Norma also treasured the time she spent at the Ayrey Family Farm in Evesham, Saskatchewan. Visiting the family farm was something she truly enjoyed and held close to her heart.

Norma will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jennifer of Grande Prairie; her son, Trevor of Red Deer; her grandchildren, Dalton, Ryland, and Courtney; her siblings, Bill (Wendy), Laura, Patricia (Brent), and Sandy (Randy); as well as many other special relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her son, Curtis, and her brother-in-law, Irvin.

A Celebration of Norma's Life will be held at a later date.

Forever Missed ~ Tammy Rae Burns (Smith)

Obituary ~ We are devastated by the sudden passing of an amazing woman, Tammy Rae Burns, who passed away at the Rimbey Hospital on August 14, 2026, at the age of 53, following a very brief battle with cancer.

Born in Castor on April 28, 1973, she grew up on a farm near Endiang. From an early age Tammy’s spirit and determination was evident. She spent her school years in Endiang, Byemoor and finally graduated high school in Hanna. Her passion for horses started at a very young age, she flourished in 4-H, horse shows and eventually in the rodeo world. But her athletic ability expanded to the curling rink, snowshoeing and more recently exploring the golf course.

Tammy has excelled in numerous careers and business, she had a successful massage therapy practice, she showed her care and compassion as an EMT for the Hanna Ambulance Service, there are many memories forever immortalized in the photos by Tammy Burns Photography, many of which recreated lasting memories for family and friends. Tammy showed much of her community spirit while employed with Prairieland School Division and more recently when she has undertaken the transformation of Olds Regional Exhibition as the General Manager.

Tammy was a woman of many talents, she was fiercely independent, had a zest and drive for life that she put into every one of her challenges. She was always the first to lend a hand to those in need, was known as the organizer and never shied away from a challenge. At the same time, Tammy was known for her sense of humour, kind soul, generosity and always willing to go that extra mile. Tammy had the biggest heart for those that she loved, and compassion for those that needed it.

Tammy will be deeply missed by her children Macey Burns (Reed Toussaint), Denton Burns, sister Kristy Smith and parents Bill and Linda Smith, brother-in-law Dallas Burns, nephews Cauy and Caul Burns. As well as some of her dearest friends that held a special place in her heart and extended family. She is predeceased by her husband Dale Burns, Grandparents Bernice and Albert Zeimer and Julia Groundwater.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, 3:00 p.m. at the Future Ag Events Centre (Cow Palace) in Olds, Alberta. 5116 - 54 St, Olds, Alberta. Please wear your best Tammy attire, bring your puppies and join us to toast her as long as there are stories to tell.

Forever Remembered ~ Hazel "Joyce" Jorgensen
Obituary ~ Hazel “Joyce” Jorgensen, 80, of Leduc, AB, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026 after complications from surgery.
Joyce was born on December 13, 1945 to Jock and Peggy Jamieson in Hanna, AB.

In 1964, Joyce met Howard Jorgensen at a dance in Richdale and their courtship was soon followed by wedding bells on October 3 of that same year. The two went on to build a life together and were blessed with three children, Tom, Noel and Tanya. Joyce was predeceased by Howard in 2011.

After more than 25 years of dedicated work with Canalta Hotels, Joyce retired in 2015. In retirement she enjoyed playing bingo and most of all spending time with her dear friends and family. She especially cherished the time she spent with her great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy and happiness.

Joyce is survived by children Tom (Sandra), Noel (Corrine), Tanya (Roger), grandchildren Charity (Curtis), Karla (Mark), Cayley (Taran), Tait (Brendan), Rachelle (Tyson), Alana, great grandchildren Lilly, Emily, Olivia, Mack, Ashton, Wyatt and along with many nieces and nephews near and dear to her heart. She will also be dearly missed by her precious pup Peanut who was always by her side.

There will be no funeral or celebration of life at her request. She was honored and delighted to have had the opportunity to spend her 80th birthday celebrating and reminiscing on so many fond memories over the years with those she loved.

Forever Loved ~ Vera Pearl Campion
1926 ~ 2026, Lived 99.5 years

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vera Pearl Campion at the age of 99 on May 30, 2026. Vera passed away peacefully at the Hanna Nursing Home.
Vera was born on November 22, 1926 to William and Alvena Grantham of Hanna, Alberta. She grew up in Hanna and surrounding area, and in 1947 married Thomas Arthur Campion. Vera was an amazing lady who never spoke negatively about anyone. Her husband, children and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends were most important to her and she loved them deeply.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Hanna Lodge, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff at Hanna Long Term Care. Thanks also to those who stopped for a visit and a cup of tea.
Vera will lovingly be remembered by her children Norman (Audrey), Keith (Brenda); daughters-in-law Mary Ann Campion, Joan (Dave) Hendricks; her grandchildren Karen (Allen) Boulianes, Kevin (Karen) Campion, Jeffrey (Lisa) Campion, Kimberly (Brent) Tuchscherer; 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Vera was predeceased by her husband Art, sons Roy and Ken, daughter Delores, sisters Eleanor and Ruby, brothers Louis and Kelly and all brothers-in-law.

Forever Remembered ~ Lois Audrey Annas
1940~2026, Lived 85 Years
Obituary ~
Lois was born in Hanna, Alberta, on September 11, 1940, to her parents, Audrey and Lawrence Miller. She was the oldest sibling and only sister to her brothers Neale, Keith, John, Dwight, and Ross.

Growing up, the family lived in many communities in Saskatchewan and Alberta, including Beadle, Coalville, Corrobert, and Kindersley in Saskatchewan, and Vermilion, Youngstown, and Hanna in Alberta. As an adult, Lois attended college in Lacombe, Alberta. She also tried her hand at many interesting jobs—cooking on a ranch in Alberta, enlisting for a short time in the Air Force, and providing childcare for many families over the years. It was during one of her stints as a nanny that Lois met one particular farmer and his four children in January of 1966. Six months later, on July 2, 1966, she married that farmer, Nelson, and took on those four children as her own: Melvina, Cheryl, Barry, and Tim. In November of 1971, Bonnie was born, and the family was complete.

Lois and Nelson lived and worked on the family farm near Scapa until their retirement in 1992, when they moved to a house in town. Lois continued to babysit for many families during those years after retiring from the farm. In 2004, Lois and Nelson gave up the work of caring for their large house, yard, and garden and moved into Kral’s Apartments. In 2013, following Nelson’s passing, Lois moved into an apartment at Hanna Manor, where she lived for several years. In 2019, she moved to Points West Living in Stettler to receive care while living with dementia. She lived there until her death at the Stettler Hospital on May 24, 2026.

Lois and Nelson’s lives focused on their family. Over the years, they drove many miles to attend concerts, plays, performances, dance festivals, music recitals, and sporting events for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Lois loved doing crafts, especially cross-stitching and crocheting. Many family members have been the recipients of one of her crocheted afghans, with the pattern and colours chosen especially with each individual in mind. She also loved her yard and garden. She spent many hours planning, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, and then canning, freezing, and preserving what had been grown. The whole family looked forward to enjoying the bounty from her garden all through the winter, and after a visit, everyone was often sent home with a bag of potatoes and a jar of pickles or jam.

Lois is survived by her children, Melvina, Cheryl (Ton), Barry (Fran), Timothy (Sharon), and Bonnie (Mark); her grandchildren, Peter, Krista (Stacy), Tara (Jim), Richard (Deanna), Tamara (Matt), Jay (Heather), Kent, Jennifer (Kevin), Heather (Darren), Kyle (Val), and Ryan; as well as her 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers John and Neale (Jeannie) Miller; her sisters-in-law, Frenchy Annas and Martha Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Nelson; her parents, Audrey and Lawrence Miller; her parents-in-law, Pauline and John Annas; her brothers Keith, Dwight, and Ross Miller; her brothers-in-law Rudy, Gus, Charlie, and John Annas, and Emerson Robinson; and her sisters-in-law Helen, Myrtle, and Edna Annas, and Marlene Miller.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to STARS, the Hanna Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, the Redeemer Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or the charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday September 11, 2026, 1:00 p.m.

Obituary ~ Barry was a devoted father, proud brother, loving uncle and cherished friend and a man whose kindness, humour, and love for music could light up any room. He will be lovingly missed by many, including his daughter: Taylor (Wyatt); siblings: Shelley (Kevin), Deryl (Sheila) and Brad (Brenda); nieces and nephews; Katelyn (Mark), Kyle (Emma-Leigh), Jodi (Mike), Lisa (Tyler), Ryan (Marie), Megan (Cory), Kerri (Mauro), Michael and Serina (Rob); aunts and uncles: Marge (Clarance) Flemmer, Nancy Sieppert, Gordon (Grace) Rossler and Gary (Sally) Sieppert.

Barry was predeceased by his mother, Viola; father: George; sister: Brenda; uncles: Emil and Ralph Sieppert; aunts: Muriel Griffith, Ruby Sieppert and Gail Rossler; and grandparents: Clara and Fred Sieppert.

Barry will be remembered for his warm smile, generous heart and the comfort of his presence. He leaves behind countless memories that will continue to live on through the people who loved him most.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
