Saugeen Hospice Inc. is very pleased to recognize the Hanover Lions Club for their generous donation to the Fundraising efforts to build a new 6-bed Hospice in Brockton.

The Hanover Lions Club does so much for our community and Saugeen Hospice appreciates their support to our Capital Campaign.

The Hanover Lions Club have also supported the Saugeen Hospice with a fundraising BBQ at the Hanover Hike For Hospice in May 2026. We appreciate their ongoing support.

🍓 Community Traditions at Work! 🍓

For years, community events like the Strawberry Supper have brought people together to share a meal and raise funds for important causes, led by the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and their dedication to helping local health services.

Building on that legacy, the Ladies Auxiliary presented Saugeen Hospice with a wonderful donation of $5,000 from their June 28th Strawberry Supper.

A big thank you to the Ladies Auxiliary and to everyone who came out to show their support!

Saugeen Hospice Inc. is very grateful for the donation of $50,000 by Jayne and Ralph Dietrich and family of Mildmay. This donation will go towards the capital campaign to build a new hospice on land donated by Brockton. Saugeen Hospice appreciates and thanks the Dietrich family for their generosity.

Local Lions Club Working Together for a Great Cause...

Six Lions Clubs - Neustadt & District, Formosa & District, West Grey/Durham, Chepstow & District, Mildmay & District, and Pike Lake Minto - have united to make a transformative contribution to community hospice care. With a generous grant from the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), the clubs have committed a total of $80,000 to purchase two cuddle beds for Saugeen Hospice.

For several of the participating clubs, this project offered a meaningful opportunity to be part of something larger. By combining resources, smaller clubs were able to join a collaborative effort with a significant and lasting impact on local families.

Cuddle beds allow loved ones to lie close to a resident, offering comfort, connection, and physical closeness during end of life care. This investment strengthens Saugeen Hospice’s ability to provide compassionate, family centred support to residents across Bruce County.

“This project shows what Lions can accomplish when we work together,” said PDG Lion Jennifer Batte, Chair. “These cuddle beds will bring comfort to families during their most tender moments, and we are proud to support Saugeen Hospice in such a meaningful way.”

A Historic Day for Our Community

Yesterday, we celebrated a milestone that belongs to our entire community.
Our Ground breaking Ceremony marked the transition from years of planning, partnership and generosity to the beginning of the construction phase for our new hospice residence.

To everyone who has supported this vision, from our early champions and volunteers to our donors, municipalities, healthcare partners, businesses, foundations, service clubs, faith communities, and community organizations, thank you. This milestone was only possible because of your belief that families deserve compassionate end-of -life hospice residence care closer to home.

Yesterday, we celebrated an incredible milestone, and the journey continues. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we've already secured 85% of the funding needed to build Saugeen Hospice through donations and pledges. As construction preparations move forward, we invite our community to help us complete this lasting legacy. Together, we can open our doors and ensure families have access to compassionate hospice residence care close to home when they need it most.

Together, we are building more than a hospice residence. We are creating a place where individuals will receive compassionate end-of-life care with dignity and comfort, and where families will be supported and surrounded by those they love during life's most meaningful moments.
