On August 29th, Randy and I gathered with some of our dearest family and friends to renew our vows after 20 years of marriage. 🤍

I’m still trying to find the words for what that day meant to me.

To be surrounded by so many people who have loved us, supported us, walked beside us and, in so many ways, helped shape who we are today was incredibly special. Some travelled a long way just to be there with us, and I don’t take that kind of love for granted.

The land we gathered on holds such a special place in our hearts, and being there together felt exactly right.

We shared food. We shared songs. We laughed, hugged, remembered, and celebrated. And we were simply surrounded by so much love.

Twenty years of marriage holds a lot of life. Randy and I are who we are today partly because of the beautiful people we have been fortunate enough to walk through this life with.

I feel so blessed. So loved. And honestly, privileged to be loved in this way.

Life really is such a joy. And getting to share it with Randy, our beautiful family, and the incredible friends we have gathered along the way is something I will never stop being grateful for.

Thank you to everyone who came and made this day what it was. We love you. 🤍

These beautiful drums are now birthed. 🤎

Last night was such a special evening. We gathered around the fire, we feasted, we sang, we drummed, we shared stories, and we connected — with each other and with the spirit of our drums.

A drum birthing is a way of welcoming your drum into its purpose. Of honouring the animal, the materials, the hands that created it, and the spirit it carries. It’s an opportunity to begin building a relationship with your drum — not simply as an instrument, but as something you will learn from, grow with, and carry into whatever work it is meant to do.

I feel so honoured to have sat in the presence of Janet McCue, to learn from her, sing and drum alongside her, and share this beautiful ceremony with everyone who came.

To everyone whose drum was birthed last night, I hope you continue to discover its voice, its spirit, and the relationship that is uniquely yours. 🪶

There will be future drum birthing dates for anyone who feels called to experience this with their own drum.

Some drums are simply meant for certain people.

This beautiful 18” horse hide drum found its home before I even had the chance to share it. I always trust that the right drum finds the right person, and this one was no exception.

I can’t wait to witness this drum come to life during our Drum Birthing Ceremony on August 7. There is something so special about welcoming a drum into its purpose, surrounding it with song, prayer, and community.
