First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to the Creator for blessing us with such a beautiful day. I want to sincerely acknowledge and thank our Elder Garry Louis for generously, sharing his sacred cultural oral teachings, which grounded our time together in deep wisdom. My heartfelt thanks also go out to all the participants who joined this gathering; your presence truly made it special. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Elder James Bull Sr. for visiting and generously sharing his vast historical knowledge with our community here in Maskwacis. Listening to him speak about our identity as Indigenous people and the deep connections among our relations is truly captivating and profound. His understanding of our past holds an incredibly precious value, and I am deeply grateful for his willingness to preserve and share these vital histories with myself and our community.
