Spent the day replacing all the boom hydraulic hoses on a man lift.

The old hoses were so sun-baked and cracked, I’m pretty sure they qualified as archaeological artifacts at this point. 🌞

Nothing quite like pulling out 40 feet of hydraulic spaghetti before lunch. 🔧

🚨 Breaking News: This skid steer has officially entered its marking its territory phase.
If your machine is leaving more spots than a Dalmatian, it might not be “just sweating” — it’s probably leaking seals. 😅

🌱 Spring has definitely sprung... and snapped. Twice. 😵‍💫

Both rear leaf springs on this tow truck decided they’d had enough of life and split clean in two. That’s right — not just tired, completely broken. Like my patience after trying to remove them.

Several hours, a few choice words, and an unholy amount of penetrating oil later… they’re finally out. Replaced with fresh springs, and the truck is back to towing without sounding like it’s crying in pain.

Moral of the story? If your leaf springs start looking like potato chips — give Forge Services a call. We’ll wrench, curse, and fix it so you don’t have to. 💪

Forge Services: Where Broken Bolts Go to Die (Eventually). 🔧🔥

They say you’re only one broken bolt away from a 3-day ordeal... Well, this job must’ve wanted to be extra memorable, because it gave us two.

While replacing injectors on a Duramax, two hold-down bolts decided they'd rather become permanent residents in the lower valve cover. Seized solid. No amount of gentle persuasion (or not-so-gentle words) could convince them otherwise.

The result? Let’s just say the lower valve cover didn’t survive the slide hammer therapy. R.I.P.

Cue the oxy acetylene torch, a bit of bolt-wrangling, and a couple of freshly welded nuts later — success! The bolts are out, the job’s done, and the Duramax lives to fight another day.

Moral of the story? If your engine’s playing hard to get, give Forge a ring. We come prepared — torches, welders, and an unreasonable amount of stubbornness included. 💪😎

🚨THE DUMP BOX THAT WOULDN’T DUMP🚨

Got called out to a job this week where a pickup truck’s dump box had decided it was on permanent vacation. Hit the switch — nothing. No dump. No drama. No movement at all. Just the sound of disappointment.

After a bit of poking, prodding, and a very intense discussion with the hydraulic gods, we found the culprit: one sneaky little broken wire. The kind of wire that hides just enough to make you question your life choices… and the laws of physics.

Meanwhile, Rusty was hard at work too — sniffing every tire, rolling in something suspicious, and making sure the customer knew who was really in charge. 🐶

Wire fixed, dump box working like a charm again, and Rusty got belly rubs for his “assistance.” Everyone wins. Except the wire. The wire is in the bin.

Forge Services: We Fix Everything but Broken Dreams (Still Working on That One)

Got a call from a gentleman with a school bus turned camper—basically the mechanical equivalent of a mullet: business in the front, party in the back.

He had a coolant leak that was less of a drip and more of a "bring your own floaties" situation. I rolled out, found the water pump bearings were toast (extra crispy), and swapped it out with the parts he had—points for being prepared!

BUT WAIT—plot twist: the actual leak was from a cracked timing cover. Because why not throw in a little chaos for flavor?

With a steady hand and some industrial-strength epoxy (and maybe a few crossed fingers), I sealed it up like it was Area 51. He got back on the road, and I’m happy to report—he made it home! No tow truck, no tears.

Another weird one in the books for Forge Services. If it runs, rolls, or leaks—I’m your guy. Bonus points if it’s all three.
