Westsyde Landing was delighted to partner with the City of Kamloops and Kamloops Senior Village as a proud sponsor of the annual City of Kamloops Senior Picnic, a vibrant community celebration that welcomed nearly 400 guests. The event brought together an incredible network of local supporters, including the Paddle Wheelers Club, Scouts and Girl Guides, St.John Ambulance, city employees, city councillors, community candidates, and the Mayor.
Guests enjoyed a day filled with laughter, connection, and entertainment, featuring hot dogs, treats, games, fitness activities, and live performances by the Kamloops Rube Band and Gary Mockford. Westsyde Landing’s welcoming tent became a gathering place where attendees could learn more about our community, pick up fun swag, enter to win a door prize, and enjoy delicious cookies freshly baked in our kitchen. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate seniors, strengthen community connections, and share the spirit of Westsyde Landing.

A heartfelt thank you to our local car club enthusiasts and the Northshore A&W for creating such a fun and memorable morning for our residents.
The car club generously spent the morning on site, sharing their vehicles and stories, while A&W donated root b**r and ice cream for floats. Together, they brought a wonderful touch of classic car nostalgia to the day.
And of course it could not have happened without the support of our amazing care and recreation teams.

When I saw how beautifully Ella’s toast was presented, I couldn’t help but comment on it and ask who had put so much care into making it look so special. Ella immediately smiled and told me that Diane was responsible. She went on to say that Diane has a wonderful way of making everything special. There is always an extra touch of care and attention from Diane. It was clear from Ella’s response just how much Diane’s efforts are noticed and appreciated by those around her.

There is something about a warm summer day that invites you to slow down and take it all in. The air is a little warmer, the light lingers a little longer, and the world feels quieter.

Residents and their families recently enjoyed a wonderful Family BBQ at Westsyde Landing. The camping-themed event featured music, games, delicious food, and lots of fun. It was a great day filled with laughter, connection, and enjoyable memories.
