Thank you for a great start to the summer with Gemstone! We had a successful Alzheimer's Walk at the end of May, followed by a wonderful BBQ to celebrate Gemstone's 13th anniversary in June. Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and helped make these events such a success. We appreciate your enthusiasm and look forward to an exciting summer ahead!
We’re proud to share that we raised $360 for the Alzheimer Society. Every dollar goes toward vital programs and services that support those affected by dementia — the fastest growing healthcare issue of our time. 💜 See less

🏁 Wheelchair Races Recap: A Day of Fun and Joy! 🎉
What an incredible day at our National Accessibility Week Wheelchair Races! The excitement was palpable as staff and leadership competed, with our residents cheering them on and even getting in on the fun by "betting" on each race. The joy and laughter shared by everyone truly made this event unforgettable.

A big shoutout to all our residents who participated in the fun!
This day brought so much happiness and connection among staff, residents, and families. Thank you to everyone who made it a success!

We celebrated MAR10 Day in the best way possible today… with some seriously fantastic mustaches 🍄👨🏻

In February we had the opportunity to wish Karen Smeaton a happy retirement !

Karen has been with Gemstone since our doors first opened in 2013 and her impact over the past twelve years has been truly remarkable. She has played an essential role in shaping who we are today—supporting our growth, navigating countless changes, and helping us provide the high-quality, resident-centered care we’re so proud of. Her dedication, leadership, and heart will be deeply missed by residents, families, and staff alike.

Please join us in thanking Karen for her many years of service and wishing her all the very best in her well-deserved retirement.

We had an amazing Resident and Family Christmas Dinner on Thursday, December 11th! Thank you to all the residents and families who were able to join us, and a special thank-you to the Gemstone Team for preparing and delivering such a wonderful dinner. From all of us to all of you, we wish you a happy holiday season and a joyful New Year!🎄❄️

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Amazing Race to Safer Care at Gemstone on October 1st!
We had a great time setting up booths focused on self-care and watching staff enthusiastically engage in quizzes at each station. After completing a quiz, participants received a small gift and collected a puzzle piece at each of the nine checkpoints.
At the end of the race, staff used their puzzle pieces to complete a picture—earning a chance to win yet another prize.

Way to go, team, for making education fun and engaging.
