For many people, the summer tends to be a time of feeling good.☀ The warm weather, sunny days, and activities galore naturally boost your mood. At first glance, this may seem like a strange time to seek counselling support, but let's look a little deeper.🌊
It is understood by most therapists that true healing takes place when things have stabilized in a client's life - even if just slightly. When there is a period of calm, the client and therapist can begin to unravel the complexities of the client's history. This is why starting therapy in the summer (when you tend to feel better) can be a pretty good idea! You can tell your story in a way that prioritizes what you want to work on. When mindful of your goals, it can be helpful to put them into action when you feel lighter, unlike during the more dreary winter months.
