A simple water safety step can be a very beneficial training and proper fitness aid for your pup while they swim.

A life jacket is not just a safety aid but it can prevent your dog from missing out on all the benefits hydrotherapy can offer.

If your dog is a weak swimmer they will likely sink their hind end into the water; commonly seen with young or old aged swimmers, inexperienced swimmers and certain breeds can be more disposed to this.

If they are not swimming in a parallel motion to the water they start to make what should be a weight bearing balanced activity and turning it into more recruitment for front end muscles and less development for the hind quarter.

A simple training aid like a proper fitting life jacket can help!
