☀️ Ikullariarnik challenge 2026 ☀️
This year, we had about 60 participants sign up to the challenge, each with their own personal goal of becoming a healthier version of themselves.
We were able to organize so many activities throughout the challenge, but none of this would have been possible without the support, generosity, and collaboration of so many people.
We were able to organize
- 8 sewing workshops
- 1 lunch with Elders
- 1 BBQ
- 1 inuit baseball activity
- 1 bike repair activity
- 1 end-of-challenge supper
- 4 boating trips (17 boats, 3 canoes) – about 76 total spots for participants and their families
We would like to sincerely thank:
Nunami ᓄᓇᒥ, Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services, Qiniqtiq Landholding, NV of Kangiqsualujjuaq and hunter support, Kangiqsualujjuaq Co-op, Northern Kangiqsualujjuaq, Nunalituqait Ikajuqatigiittut Inuit Association, & Brador Fabrics for their generous donations.
Mandy Lidd (Elder coordinator), UTHC Social services & UTHC Tasiurtigiit for helping us organize and supporting our activities
Our guides for the boating trip: Brendan Laroche, Claude St-Aubin, Darrel Imak, David Jake Annanack, Jimmy Chevrier, Kenny Angnatuk, Ned Emudluk, Roddy Stewart, Roger Adlook, Sam Seguin, Tom Cain & Travis St-Aubin
And finally, our participants, for taking part in the challenge, making healthy choices, and making a conscious effort to take a step towards a healthier life. Every effort counts, and there is no failure in trying. By choosing to take care of ourselves and support one another, we are helping build a healthier, happier, and stronger community for everyone.
