We’re proud to see our team out supporting the community during the ongoing wildfires in the Okanagan.

Our medics have been working alongside ESS, Samaritan’s Purse, the Central Okanagan Food Bank, The Salvation Army, and Hero Security to support evacuees staying in group lodging.

It has been incredible to see so many organizations come together and step up when our community needs it most. From providing medical support and security to food, shelter, and a welcoming place to stay, every organization and every person involved is playing an important role.

A special thank you to everyone who has been working long hours, often behind the scenes, to make sure evacuees are safe, supported, and cared for.

We are grateful that our team has the opportunity to contribute and support our community during a challenging time. This is what community looks like — different organizations coming together with one goal: taking care of people when they need it most.

To all the volunteers, first responders, support organizations, businesses, and community members helping across the Okanagan — thank you.

We’re proud to be part of this community and proud of our team for stepping up when it matters.

If a wildfire threatens your home or community, you may need to leave quickly.

Take time now to build grab-and-go bags for everyone you live with, including pets.

This list will get you started:

Food and water ✔️

Phone charger and power bank ✔️

Battery-powered or hand-crank radio and flashlight ✔️

First-aid kit and personal medications ✔️

Personal toiletries such as an extra pair of glasses ✔️

Copy of your emergency plan and important documents, such as insurance papers ✔️

Seasonal clothing and an emergency blanket ✔️

Once you’ve got the basics, customize everyone’s bag to meet their needs, such as medications and comfort items ✔️
