At Lake Huron Audiology, your hearing is our concern. We will work to address all of your hearing needs.

We offer hearing assessments for all ages, central auditory processing screenings, hearing aid selection, and fitting.

What does OHIP cover?
OHIP only insures diagnostic hearing tests ordered and performed/overseen by qualified physicians.

Diagnostic hearing tests requested or arranged by third parties, e.g. school boards, employers, Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) etc. are not insured services and will not be covered by OHIP.

Tinnitus is a condition of buzzing, whistling or ringing in the ear. A tinnitus masker is a device like a hearing aid which emits a sound in the ear to mask these other sounds. The evaluation for this device is no longer insured by OHIP.

What does the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) cover?
The Assistive Devices Program may contribute to the cost of your hearing aid if you are eligible. Your audiologist will be paid a dispensing fee for fitting and adjusting the hearing aid. (Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, 2022)

Here are 4 ways that seasonal allergies can affect your ears...
