✨ A Day of Learning, Connection & Growth ✨

Yesterday was such an enriching day for the Stride Academy clinical and admin teams! 💙

We had the honour and privilege of participating in an experiential exercise facilitated by Great Blue Heron Consulting, focused on Indigenous Cultural Competence. It was an opportunity to listen, reflect, learn, and deepen our understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing and being—an important part of our ongoing commitment to being a culturally sensitive service provider. 🌿

We also spent time connecting around clinical topics, sharing agency updates, exchanging ideas, and learning from one another. Perhaps most importantly, we had the opportunity to simply connect as a team. 🤝

With 56 members across our clinical and administrative teams that work across three sites, finding time for everyone to be together isn’t something we often get to do. Days like this remind us just how valuable that time is—not only for professional development, but for building relationships, strengthening our team, and creating a shared sense of purpose.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn together, grow together, and celebrate the incredible people who make Stride Academy what it is. 💙

📚✨ A New School Year & A Day of Learning at Stride Academy! ✨📚

A reminder to our Stride Academy families that we are closed today, Wednesday, September 2, for a Professional Development Day as our team takes time to learn, grow, and strengthen the work we do with the children and families we support. 💙

🌙 Regularly scheduled evening sessions for respite and psychotherapy will continue as planned.

And to all of the students who are heading off to their first day of school today — best of luck! 🎒🍎 We hope you have an amazing first day filled with new friends, new learning, new goals, and lots of exciting opportunities to grow and discover. A new school year is a fresh start and a chance to dream big, try new things, and celebrate all the progress you’ll make along the way! 🌟

🎉 Celebrating 5 Years of Stride Academy! 🎉

Five years ago, Stride Academy began with a vision and a belief that we could make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. What followed has been a journey of grit, determination, resilience, and incredible growth. Every challenge has strengthened us, every success has inspired us, and the over 600 children we’ve had the privilege of supporting has shaped who we are today.

As we celebrate this milestone, we are filled with gratitude for our amazing team, the children and families who trust us, and the community that has supported us every step of the way. This achievement belongs to all of you.

Our senior team recently had the opportunity to join our partners at for a valuable day of professional learning focused on collaboration, consultation, and leadership within multidisciplinary teams.

The workshop explored practical strategies for strengthening communication, building team alignment, fostering accountability, and creating meaningful systems-level change—all with the goal of better supporting the students, children, and families we serve.

We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with and for opportunities like this that allow us to learn, grow, and strengthen our collective impact. Thank you for investing in collaborative learning and shared excellence.

What an incredible honour and privilege it was to attend the Kingston Business Awards.

We are so proud that our Clinical Director, Laura, was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year. To be recognized among such an inspiring group of business leaders is truly humbling and a reflection of the meaningful, essential services we are privileged to provide to children, youth, and families throughout our community.

This nomination represents not only Laura’s leadership, but also the dedication, passion, and commitment of the entire Stride Academy team, whose work makes a difference every day.

Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners. It was an amazing evening celebrating the innovation, leadership, and impact of businesses across our city.
