As Synergy Music Therapy’s 5th birthday celebrations come to a close this week, our founders want to extend a heartfelt thank you to every client, family, community partner, supporter, and team member who has been part of this journey.

Your trust, encouragement, and belief in the power of music therapy have helped us grow from a dream into a thriving community dedicated to making meaningful connections through music.

What began as a vision has grown into countless meaningful moments shared through music therapy. From individual sessions and groups to community events, celebrations, milestones, and everything in between, we are grateful for every client, family, therapist, partner, and supporter who has been part of this journey.

Community means different things to different people.

For some, it’s finding a place where they feel understood. For others, it’s building relationships, sharing experiences, and knowing they don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

In music therapy, community is often found in the moments in between. Community is the shared smiles, the encouragement, the celebrations, and the connections that continue long after the music ends.

As therapists, we have the privilege of witnessing progress every day.

Not all growth is loud or obvious. Sometimes it’s a child taking a risk, trying again after a setback, asking for help, staying engaged a little longer, or showing a new skill in a different environment.

These moments may seem small, but they often represent weeks, months, or even years of hard work from the child, their family, and their therapy team.

They are the moments that remind us why we do what we do. 💙

As music therapists, we spend so much time using music to support others that sometimes we forget to make space for music in our own lives.

Playing for a client is meaningful. Playing for yourself is important, too.

Being a musician is more than a skill set we bring into sessions. Music is part of who we are at our core. Taking time to sing, play, create, improvise, learn a new song, or simply enjoy music without a treatment goal attached can help us reconnect with that part of ourselves.

This is your reminder to nurture your own musicianship, not just your clinical skills. 🎵💙
