Great initiative!

Shoppers Foundation for Women’s HealthTM is inviting Canadians to join them in their fight for menstrual equity by donating pads, tampons, period underwear and menstrual cups at their local Shoppers Drug Mart® store as part of its new Pad it forward donation campaign.

Donations bins for this in-store program will be visible near the checkout area in stores nationwide, with all donated products going to one of more than 300 local women’s shelters or community food banks.

"Yes, I have referred people to take the Self-BAT. One of the women had a Bleeding Score of 9, and I advised her, after having further discussion with her and getting a detailed history, to ask her family physician for a referral to a hematologist for further investigation. She tells me she has an upcoming appointment shortly." - Lisa Thibeault, Kingston Health Sciences Centre Inherited Bleeding Disorders Nurse Coordinator.

Many healthcare specialists, and patients have shared the Self-BAT amongst their community. Have you taken the Self-BAT https://letstalkperiod.ca/self-bat/

On April 17, 2026, the global inherited bleeding disorders community will come together on World Hemophilia Day to advocate for all inherited bleeding disorders. This year’s theme of “Diagnosis: First step to care” highlights the critical importance of diagnosis—the essential first step in treatment and care.

The WFH estimates that over three-quarters of the population of people with hemophilia worldwide are undiagnosed, and an even more significant gap also exists for other bleeding disorders. This means that hundreds of thousands of people with bleeding disorders around the world still lack access to basic care. We have the power—and the shared commitment—to change this. We can improve diagnostic outcomes by strengthening the skills of healthcare professionals and enhancing the effectiveness of laboratories. By increasing global diagnosis rates, we can move one step closer to our shared vision of Treatment for All.
