Mea Centre: Pregnancy Support Services Mea Centre is a non-profit agency that encourages, empowers and equips anyone in our community before, during, and after an unexpected pregnancy.

We provide:

Free pregnancy tests
Confidential peer support about pregnancy and your options
Ongoing support before and after delivery
Adoption Information and After Adoption Support
Referrals for medical, legal, educational and social services
Prenatal classes
Parenting support groups
Men support groups
Post-Abortion Support
Post-Partum Support groups
Material Support (i.e. clothes, diapers, formula, maternity clothes and other baby items)
And sexual health education

When you partner with us in our Change for Life Campaign you can change the life of a new mom by providing her with free prenatal classes, post-partum in-home support, postpartum depression and anxiety resources, and a perinatal support group for moms. Being a new mom comes with a lot of challenges and changes, but they don't have to go through it alone.

What Is Disenfranchised Grief?
The term “disenfranchised grief” was introduced by grief expert Kenneth Doka to describe grief that society may minimize, dismiss, or fail to recognize.
People may experience disenfranchised grief when:
• Others do not see the loss as significant
• The relationship is misunderstood or hidden
• The circumstances surrounding the loss carry stigma or shame
• The grieving person feels they do not have permission to mourn openly
